I just installed the Parrot MKI 9000 in my Ridgeline with NAV. Easiest thing I ever did! Thank you for the pictures Lingered, I really appreciate it. Taking the dash and head unit out was easy. I put the Parrot unit behind the NAV head unit as there appeared to be a ton of room back there, and strung the ipod connector and mic, down through the bottom with a coat hanger. It works great and the voice quality integration with the trucks speaker's is awesome. Here is my review/two cents:
Parrot MKI9000: (no screen, wireless remote with IPOD connector)
THE GOOD:
1. Great sound quality and microphone (ppl don't even know I'm on a blue-dueche)
2. Great speaker integration and sound
3. Installed really easy with the BT-1721 harness! I even have the premium radio system with an AMP and it works fine (I've heard AMPS give the harness issues).
4. Bluetooth Audio streams seamlessly with great muting
5. Switch back and forth to line-in and bluetooth audio during playback is great
6. Voice commands work well (and the british chick is hot....I know it!)
7. You can update the system with a USB stick into the IPOD connector port
THE ANNOYING:
1. For some reason I am still getting feedback from the radio when bluetooth audio is playing, unless I turn the volume knob from the radio all the way down.
2. It takes over the NAV systems audio functions, so I can't press any of the keys unless I deactivate the BT Audio.
3. The Amp in my truck is way better than the built in AMP of the parrot (duh) during BT audio. Using the "Line-in" is a vast improvement in sound quality (plus it cahrges my I-shizzle...).
All in all I thnk it's a worthwhile self installment.
