Hatch Stuck!!!

ok so a few days ago i was able to open and close my bed compartment no problem but i went to open it today and the fuggin thing wont open. and yea i tried messing with the switch in the glove box. the key wont turn in the tumbler either. i can hit the button and hear the lock trying to disengage but no pop! WTF! i really dont wanna try
prying it open and run the risk of jackin the gasket up, anyone have this problem or can offer some suggestions?????

There is a thread on this here somewhere, but If I remember correctly if you measure 3 to 3 1/2 from the center of the hatch right about you license plate and make a hole, not sure how big, you can get access to the release mechanism.

Is your trunk full of gear causing the release mechanism to jam? Or is it just malfunctioning?

The trunk lid alignment process shows the hinge bolts and how to loosen them. I'm not sure where they're prying once the hinge bolts are loose, but maybe this will help.

I had mine stuck once from having something just a little too tall in the trunk. Thankfully pushing (sitting? jumping?) down near the latch while triggering the release at the same time finally got it...
