Hey guys I have a 2006 Honda Ridgeline RTS. The D light on my shift indicator started flashing earlier today. I'll post the pic. I read online that this could indicate a transition problem. I was wondering if any of y'all have had similar problems, if y'all know what transition problems this could be, and/or how to address the issue. Thank you! I really appreciate y'all's help!

This is an age old Honda reported problem. I had it on our 2005? Pilot (around 2011?).

Some have reported simply topping off the tranny fluid, some have replaced all the tranny fluid, and some - like me needed to replace an external tranny pressure switch.

Online info gave me the necessary knowledge and I did the job myself, in the driveway; 30 min and $50 parts.

Start with the basics, is the transmission fluid full, what color is the transmission fluid and does the fluid smell burnt. Flashing D only means the transmission has an issue, you need to scan the transmission control module for the code. It could be as simple as a pressure switch or speed sensor, but the code will tell you what is happening.

It was P0873
Interesting Google Ai results for that code. "The P0873 code in Honda vehicles indicates a Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch "C" Circuit High problem. This means the Transmission Control Module (TCM) is receiving a high voltage signal from the sensor that measures pressure in the transmission's 4th clutch circuit."

Yeah, here is the pic.

The 4th gear clutch pressure switch is correct diagnosis.

There is an YT video of performing the service and I would imagine it is very similar to G1s. I have replaced my 3rd gear pressure switch with relative ease and the video makes changing the 4th easy as well.
