I have the above vehicle that has the vibration occurring, easily reproducible which I have done for my Honda dealer. All I have to do is go 53 mph, be in econ mode, set cruise control and then go up a slight hill or down a gentle slope and get a vibration in the steering wheel and can feel it in the seat of the truck. It has been in for the juddering tsb, had a new torque converter installed and a new rear motor mount. Its not as bad now as it was but its still there. At this point I am told that Techline says its a characteristic of the vehicle and there is nothing that can be done.
I had gotten a VCM Tuner II that I am going to be installing to see if that stops the vibration but wanted to let Honda fix it first. I have the extended warranty for 8 years 130k miles so I will most likely keep the truck until that runs out but probably won't be buying a Honda ever again. I am in Vermont now and the speed limit is 50 mph on most state highways, prior to this I was in Texas and California where 65 plus is legal. At the higher highway speeds you don't see this issue but it has become more of a problem now at the lower limits. Just want to put this out there for anyone looking at Hondas, this was not how I expected them to stand behind their vehicle. My dealer here has been great working with me on this and when I take the mechanic for a ride they can notice the vibration when it occurs also. I don't know how many other buyers of the Ridgeline still have this issue but would be interested in seeing how many on this board are dealing with this also.

This has been covered many, many times. It's a trait of the VCM system and is more pronounced on some vehicles than others. In my Accord, it's very noticeable under the conditions you describe. I installed the S-VCM tuner and never looked back. I still have a rattling from the torque converter while driving slightly down grades with very light, or no throttle application but the "rumble strip" effect has all but been banished.

Are you saying it only happens at 53MPH in ECON mode with the cruise control set? Does it do this for an extended period or only a second or two? On my truck VCM will go to 6cylinder mode at the slightest incline so not sure it’s VCM but disabling it with VCM tuner will be a good test.

..........I am told that Techline says its a characteristic of the vehicle and there is nothing that can be done.......
I'm calling Techline BS, saying its characteristic. It's not characteristic on our '17 FWD Rigi. It has been smooth as silk at all speeds for the 10 months we've owned it and I monitor VCM On/Off. The only exception is the +/-30 mph and +/-20 mph abrupt downshifts. I installed a VCM Tuner II, a few weeks ago, after reading here that disabling VCM improved downshifting. Downshifting was much improved immediately after installing the VCM Tuner II.

It happens at all speeds I believe, just easiest to reproduce at that speed. Mainly low load on engine, pretty sure its vcm related and will try disabling. VCM mode seems to be the main factor but converter and motor mount had been bad because after each was replaced it got better. I worry that one is causing the other items to go bad. I have a VCM Tuner 2 to put on but was hoping the issue could be sorted out by Honda.
