I will be purchasing a 2024 Ridgeline Black Edition this weekend and I am leaning toward the sonic gray pearl, but my concern is with how much blue is in it. I am much more a fan of gray than blue and it is nearly impossible to tell what this color really looks like in photos and videos. I haven't seen it in person because no dealers near me has it in stock, which is why I am traveling about 90 min away to purchase one this weekend.

I have seen the platinum white pearl in person and I really like it too, but I'm not sure it suites the Ridgeline. I'm not interested in black or red, not my style.

I am interested in feedback from anyone with first hand experience with sonic gray or platinum white on a BE, particularly your thoughts on the blue content of sonic gray.

Cheers!

Sonic Gray Pearl is not a new color for Ridgeline's or other Honda vehicles. I have a 2024 Sonic Gray Pearl BE and was surprised when taking delivery that it was not gray as I expected, but more like a light blue. Now that I have had it for a month, I am very happy with the color and would not want a gray like the majority of other vehicles on the road.

If there is a Honda dealer near you, go and look at other Sonic Gray Honda's on the lot which may be current model year or prior years so you can see the color on an actual vehicle. Ambient light has an influence on the color which is why pictures do not represent the color you will see.

I agree with @njamesj, check out another model on the Honda lot to compare colors.

Sonic Gray can barely be classified as blue. It mostly looks like a muddy gray or as @zroger73 has stated "primer gray." The one in my driveway looks really good twice a day when the sun hits it just right. As far as contrasting/clashing with the red stitching it won't be the best match if that is what you are aiming for. But the only "blue" you can really see while inside the vehicle are the door sills/jams. If you like the Sonic Gray, then go for it and don't worry about the nice red stitching on the seats.

Sonic Gray was my first choice but then I saw it under certain lighting conditions and it reminded me of baby blue. I really would have liked it if it was more cement color like some of the other brands have.

I ended up with Modern Steel which came with a bonus; the wheel color almost matches the paint! I like that look.

I was heavily considering an SGP TrailSport or BE when i first started looking. After seeing several RLs and other Hondas in this color, I decided that it was too trendy and I would likely tire of it after a few years. It's a little more blue than I'd really like and it looks a little flat in certain lighting. I came to the conclusion that it would show swirl marks more than the other metallic or pearl paint colors offered, and ultimately decided on Platinum White Pearl. I do like SGP in certain lighting, but it's just not for me as a long-term choice.

I am completely happy with my Sonic Gray ridgeline.

When the sun is brightest and the sky is clear it appears/looks gray.

When the sky is overcast, or it gets darker in the day, it appears/looks blue. It even seems to change shades (from light to dark) the darker the day/light gets (like a colorshift effect).

Personally I like the effect.

Well, after seeing the SGP in person, I actually don't like it. It's way too baby blue for my taste. Sure, all the color changing in different lighting is kind of cool, but it's not my thing. I will be going with platinum white pearl, which is more of a luxury car color than a truck color, in my opinion, but it is gorgeous and less trendy, which I like.

With only 4 colors to choose from on the BE, compromise will be required for some people and PWP is a good compromise for me.

It’s actually more of a “work truck” color, definitely not a luxury car color. There is no right or wrong choice just buy what you like and don’t ask for other’s opinions.

Sonic Gray Pearl is the perfect shade of blue-ish gray. I think it is hands down the best-looking paint I’ve had yet on a vehicle.

After being forced into black SUVs for the past 9 years, because that was all that dealers had enough of that they’d deal on, I was so happy to lay my hands on this beauty. And she shows hardly any dirt or salt, even when our roads are salted like only the DMV can when there is a snowflake in the forecast.
