Thanks for posting this! I've been wanting a hood deflector. Unfortunately the Honda one is $200 and is mostly adhesive. I'll look at getting one of these.

 

I have one, and it survived the high wind dryers at my touch free car wash. It flexed a lot, but didn't hit the hood, and the fasteners stayed tight.

 

You need to put the bumpers on the actual hood, otherwise it could wear your paint.

 

I didn't like the OEM "low profile" deflector at all, reduced protection and you have to put 3M tape directly on the painted hood.....and yes the AVS has clear pencil eraser sized nylon stops you stick on the hood, I assume they are needed at high spees or if a car wash automatic brush rolls over them and bends them down..

 

Do any of these actually deflect bugs or do they just protect the paint on the front of the hood

 

Well if they are the kind of bugs that the airstream created by the deflector will catapult them over the windshield I suppose; heavier bugs will probably still splatter nicely in a strategic location directly in front of the driver. It's their job...
