I have been doing this to all my vehicles for years. I would have pulled off the H if it didn't have locater pins into the tailgate...

 

I did the same, leaving the H, shortly after I bought mine.

 

I de-badged the tailgate on my sonic grey RL tailgate but also removed the big H. The tiny holes don't bother me anymore

Living out here in the country, I prefer letting folks behind me wonder whether I'm driving a new Tacoma or other mid-size pickup

 

Wish I could cover up the front grille Honda badge.. but maybe that's where some sensors are located ??

You can...I did. Smoke colored film has no impact on the radar sensor.

I just think the tailgate looks much cleaner, removing the other badges. I completely realize not everybody likes it this way, but I do.

I do this as well to every vehicle I have owned. Looks great!

 

I love the de-badged look, on the Ridgeline and on all vehicles. I will never buy a vehicle that stamps the badging right into the sheet metal, unless perhaps if I was paid lucrative advertising royalties by the manufacturer every time I took the vehicle in public.

 

What is the correct procedure to do this, without any damage to the paint, etc.?

 

I use either dental floss or fishing line to saw the adhesive behind the letters, then use some 3M adhesive and wax remover to loosen the remaining glue. Then some fingernail action to peel it off...

Just installed all of my rear black emblems. Its cold out and it was a giant pain in the butt. Wished I would have waited until spring/summer but once I did one, I couldnt stop. Probably going to sound crazy but the emblems took me 3 hours total to do because the glue was so difficult to remove.

I got plastic razor blades from Ace Hardware for scraping off emblems on a warm day. I plan on using Ultidip to recolor my badges. DipYourCar - World Famous Peelable Auto Paint

 

I hope everyone knows this but Emergency Personnel and Towing Services very much prefer to see Badging on a wrecked vehicles as it helps them to determine what they're up against. It is difficult to determine Make/Model of a crumpled vehicle...removing Badging makes it even more difficult. In the case of a wrecked Electric Vehicle it is even more important to have the Badging so that the Electric Cut-Off Switch can be quickly located.

 

I can certainly understand this for an EV and/or Hybrid. For a non-EV, I don't think it matters at all.

 

I think the silver H on the tailgate ties in well with the silver dual exhaust. I am leaving that alone….

How complicated is it to take that emblem off? I DeBadged the other badges simply with hot air and fishing line, but I understand the Honda emblem is different? How does it come off and do use the same double stick glue to put it back on?

 

Easy, just go all around it with fishing line. Pull logo directly towards you and off it comes. Take needle nose pliers and pull the two holders out as the new one will have them already on H logo and pop it in place.

Looks nice...but, my thoughts and likes are less is more. Debadge the entire tailgate and leave the Honda emblem.

Plastidip, or Honda makes black emblems specifically made for certain vehicles. I black led out my 2021 accord sport SE but haven’t got around to doing my Ridgeline yet, but I did plastidip my grill, and I’ll looks much better than the chrome

I bought my 2012 Ridgeline completely de badged! It's black looks nice but I think it would look better with the emblems!

I removed the Honda badge And stuck on a small 4X4 emblem from Auto zone that I painted Black and covers both holes!
