I am new to this forum and a new owner of a 2019 Ridgeline RTL-E. FANTASTIC vehicle in every way. I am looking for recommendations on a dog cover for the back seat - and your recommendation on a cover for the bed.

We have two dogs - fairly well behaved - but we need to protect the leather seats as well as the side doors. We would also like to install a gate preventing the dogs from “checking-in” with us in the front seat. Any recommendations would be great!

We need to cover the bed of the truck - especially as we get into the winters here in Northern Wisconsin. any recommendations would be great!

Travel Safety Pet Barrier seems to be the cheap version of what you want to keep your dogs in the back seat while you're driving. There are larger and more expensive versions. I have the Honda OEM rear seat covers as well, very good and have kept a tipped over flower pot (water and all) from damaging the leather in any way. I only have the OEM tonneau cover, so I can't recommend any full hardtop covers from experience, if that's what you're looking for.

Needed the same, bought a Meadow Lark dog hammock from Amazon and it kinda worked, but my Sheptard soon figured out how to get over the front mesh restraint that is snapped to the front headrests.

I am working on a PVC pipe framework to support the dog hammock In the Ridgeline and block her out of the front seats, removable for when people ride in back. My dog drove my wife’s Mazda 6 Wagon into a parked car a few years ago by getting in front when I left car running to drop a dvd into a return slot at the rental place. She lost her learners permit, and I got a stern lecture from the cops, and paid for the minor damage to the car she hit.

I did the WeatherTech rear seat protector on my 2019 and am happy with it. I have an older dog and we get a few messes on the protector. Easy to remove, toss in the wash and put back in. I do not have any mechanism to block access to the front seats. More often than not he will wait in either the driver or passenger seat and return to the rear when we get back to the truck.

For bed covers, I did the Lomax cover. Great fit, low profile, easy install and removal if needed.

Dog seat cover: Price has gone up a bit on the one I bought, but it's very high quality. Very thick and has a nice canvas-like finish. I got a cheap one initially but 1x through the wash and the buckles broke. This one has straps with metal buttons that are removable for when you need to wash it. Stays in place no problem. Bed cover: I've tried a few (extang encore trifold, pergaon). Ultimately I landed on the Bak Revolver X4. I really liked the Extang, but I ended up wanting to add a bed rack which meant I couldn't use the tri-fold. Peragon looked nice but was going to scratch way too easily for my needs (plus you loose about a food of the bed). Bak has a nice finish and rolls easily. Not super easy to take off, but when rolled up you have access to most of the bed. Jason B hooked me up with a great price on the Revolver X4.

I bought a Weathertech rear seat cover, which is quite durable, and then cut and upholstered a piece of foam to lay in front of the rear seat on the floor, behind the front seats. It creates a solid bed. I also made an armrest that fits over the console door slide and between the armrests.

Mambe Blankets are great for covering beds, sofas, backseats, etc. to keep dog dirt off everything. They are durable and have a waterproof inner layer.

A bean bag is the worst thing for a dog, IMHO. With my construction of a dog platform, the dog is able to 'brace' into a turn or a stop. much as do motorcycle riders. With a bean bag, there is nothing for the dogs 'instinct ' to do with it, thus making the dog insecure. This dog of mine is 16yrs old, and not doing well for waking or balance. In the R/L she stands for an entire trip, and looks at the world going by. In my GMC, I had a similar dog platform, built on the floor. She could see out the window with the GMC. But with the R/L she takes more notice of things and seems to enjoy the ride better.

Interesting. My dog loved it, wouldn't sit anywhere else in the vehicle. Put him at the right height to lay down and look out the windows, and settled in just enough to not lose balance in the turns.

Also, he wore a halter that clipped to the seat belt. Our current dog does the same. I guess YMMV.

I bought a Softtopper and enjoy the versatility of an open bed when needed, gear protection from the elements when it's close up. It keeps prying eyes away and can serve as a dog house when we have to leave them with the truck. ST has a screened back window available and the sides roll up for ventilation. I even installed a battery operated ceiling fan in the back.

Thank you for this snippet. I think I'll have an 'internet look see' at them

I got the Honda black fitted (neoprene?) covers. Expensive, but worth it.
On top, just because we already had from a previous vehicle, I have the 4Knines quilted cover.
I believe 4Knines also makes door covers.
The covers are well made and washable.
We've had them for years and are quite satisfied.

My pup wears a seatbelt to keep her in the back, and sits on the floor in a bed or blanket. As for the door protection. I saw someone on the forums make an arm rest protector thing. It basically had an insert that fit into the cupholder with a platform on top that covered the whole arm rest and window buttons... if that makes any sense.

Own back seat dog cover and it holds up well. I have retrax bed cover and I like it a lot except they do not make the T slotted bed rails for Honda ridge like that would allow you to use accessories like ladder rack or above bed storage. They say due to shape of Honda ridge line bed.

Satisfied with both.
