I’ve seen that happen in other cars specifically because the gas cap was not sealed completely, throwing off system pressure.
There is no gas cap for the Ridgeline, but I wonder if the cause is similar

 

I hope it's nothing. My health makes it hard to get there and my wife has to follow. Oh well, that's life.

 

Probably worthwhile to invest in an ODBII scanner. I suggest using one of the bluetooth dongle types which let's you use a smartphone app to monitor sensors, as well as pull (and if necessary, reset) the diagnostic trouble codes.

I'm an iphone guy so I use this one with CarScanner app (which has a free, ad supported version)

My wife got an emissions system alert on her 2019 pilot the other day, and I pulled the code. (I think it was evap system slow leak or something like that.)
Dealer reset it for first time occurrence, and we'll see if it comes back.

Today, got in the truck to take my wife to the doctor and the dang emissions light is on.

Have an appt tomorrow to drop off the truck at our dealer that is 30 miles away. Only got about 1800 miles on my 2019 RTLE. What the heck could this be?

All 2017-2018 and some 2019 Ridgelines have a known issue with the fuel injectors. Honda extended the warranty on them to 10 years or 150K miles. Faulty injectors have been the most common cause of a "check engine light" on Ridgelines by far, but that's not the only cause.

Only 1,800 miles on a 2-3 year-old vehicle? Could be bad gas!

 

A day after I had the recall done I got the emissions system problem light come on. It has been back to the dealership 3 times and they haven't been able to fix yet. The fault code says it is the purge valve. The light is currently on and the truck being dropped off with the dealership while I am out of town for 6 days so they can figure it out.

 

Sorry for your experience. Prayers that doesn't happen to us. I.wonder if this would fall under any lemon law .

 

Mine said that there was an evaporator leak because the fuel pump was not properly torgued. Listed as torqued and evaporator test passed. I sure hope it's done. Now I have the gas smell again. Oh joy.

 

That's actually EVAP (Evaporative Emission Control System) rather than evaporator (the component that allows your A/C system to blow cold air).
