just so you are aware that the 09+ RTL leather is the same steering wheel thats in a 2012sport+

the 09-12 RL's leather steering wheels are also cheaper (for some reason)
than the 06-08

both are leather but the newer models are cheaper to buy

I am canadian and I found https://www.conicellihondaparts.com/

the part number for the sports leather and the 09+ RTL steering wheel is 78501-SJC-A71ZA

the rubber wheel is 78501-SJC-A51ZA so dont listen to JadedSoulX he does not know what he's talking about

cheapest price 159$ for 2012 RTL leather steering wheel with 40$ shipping with USPS meaning no duty fee's

the 2006-09 RTL leather is about 200$

so if you are considering to replace your worn out rubber steering wheel with a leather wrapped one buy the 09+ RTL's because they are cheaper

Wrong 09 + Information.

The 09+ RTL Steering wheel part # is 78501-SJC-A71ZA the part # for the 12+ Sport wheel is 78501-SJC-A51ZA.

The price of the sport wheel is ~$104 the price of the RTL wheel is ~$169.

Correct on this.

The 06-08 comes in two types warm gray (78501-SJC-A93ZA) and dark gray (78501-SJC-A93ZB). Both of these cost around $204.

Prices are in US dollars.

why dont you post what you got in the mail with the part #78501-SJC-A51ZA. ?/?

and yes the 06-08 does come in 2 colors.. while the RTL and sport only comes in dark gray...

maybe you should check other websites example
http://www.parkhondaoemparts.com/pa...rts/2012/HONDA/RIDGELINE/SPORT/?siteid=215333&vehicleid=1503683&diagram=F649070

2012 sports wheels are teh same price as 09-12 RTLs and share the same part number so obviously its the exact same leather wheel for ALL models of ridgelines including the sport 09+
but the 06-08 wheels are different and are more expensive (not sure whats different about them)

Carefull guys. They may be slight differences between the US Sport vs the Canadian Sport. Ex: The US version is a step above the RT. The US RT is equivalent to the Canadian DX. However, the step above DX Canadian is the VP which is almost like a US RTS. The Canadian version Sport has a few extra features over the US model but not sure what they all are.

In Canada, the trims are as follows:

DX = Base
VP = Mid Range
Sport = Sport
Touring = RTL

^^ thanks but I already double checked that

the steering wheels themselfs are the same in both canadian and US models

Im talking about the leather steering wheel... a canadian leather wheel is the exact same leather wheel with the same part number as a US model ridgeline that has the leather stock.

this isnt about so much the models of the trucks

I am just stating that all models of 06-08 that have a leather steering wheel is a v1

and 09+ all models with leather wheel are v2 of the leather steering wheel

v1.. is more expensive while v2 is cheap

so if anyone wants to replace oem rubber wheel with a leather one go for v2(version 2 of the leather wheel) as its just cheaper
the sports model of 2012 is also vs.. same part numbers

No garantee on the duty fees from USPS!!!!

Trust me, I have purchased many, many things from the US and am sometimes boggled at why some items have duty, and some don't. So much for NAFTA!

OMFG

just so you guys know the 09+ steering wheel is not the same as the 06-08

I just got my 2009+ leather wheel and now I see why its cheaper than the older version

the plastic piece where teh controls are in the middle that piece is actually much smaller than plastic piece the 06-08 comes with

so now I also have to get that plastic piece to fit the wheel

the silver trim ...

the main difference is that the 06-08 steering wheels have a thicker 10am and 2pm points and the 09+ wheels have almost twice less of size at those spots

so teh trim is thicker on older and thiner on new ones at that point as well which is why i gave gaps.. I can however screw the old trim into the new wheel .. the holes line up lol

So, let me get this straight. You started this thread confidently stating this part would fit (leading some astray). Others corrected you that your info was wrong and you stated you knew what you were talking about. They were right. You were wrong. Yet you still are digging in your heels and your mistake was their doing?

***sigh*** advice for the future... When you have an idea like this, either ask people here whether they think it will work first, or try it first and post your success stories with pics. But posts like this one take all credibility of your future posts and thows it out the window

you have no clue what happened then.

I was about to buy a normal RTL leather for my 2007 to change from a rubber one.

I saw a post on here of some guy who was saying and I quote ''
2012 sports model leather steering wheel is cheaper to buy than an RTL wheel.''

So I looked into it to see if its true and it was true the 2012 sports leather was 50$ cheaper than the RTL.

however teh mistake was that he assumed that the sports wheel is somehow different than the RTL wheel which is not true . this thread was for the purpose of concluding that the RTL wheel and the sports wheel are the same price both wheels are teh same from 2009+

He also assumed and I quote '' that the leather must be a cheaper quality than the RTL's''

so that misslead me to think that the only thing different about the 06-09 RTL wheel and the 09+ RTL wheel is a different type of leather to make a 50$ in change because the steering wheels do fit so I went ahead and ordered the 09+ leather wheel to save 50$

however the silver trim piece that i have from my 2007 wheel (it does fit over) but there are gaps around teh leather / trim

hence why its 50$ cheaper because the older rims arent as wide as the newer trims making the older leather in the wheel wider (more leather) while the 09+ wheels have less leather

so that was my mistake not knowing that but his mistake was to make me assume that the wheel would fit and that it was only the grade of leather that was different in both wheels and not the fit of the trim

Sounds more like I have the exact clue what's going on...
