Here's a little project I just finished. This is an old cell phone connected to a bluetooth OBD module running the Torque application. I removed the console and spliced a Samsung 12V to 5V adapter into it so the phone can charge while in the sunglass caddy. The caddy also closes like normal.

Re: Integrated ODB Display

There are 7 screens of displays in the app, so there is a lot of stuff I am monitoring.

Oops, is there anyway to rename the thread? Fingers tripped. Should be OBD not ODB.

Re: Integrated ODB Display

That looks cool! What theme is that? I have the app but haven't played around with it much.
"Bulletproof Kevlar Theme" by Stephen Brunson.

If you have any questions about Torque, feel free to PM me. I have been using it for a couple years now.

Tip: I just got back from the scale at the landfill and my 2006 Ridgeline was 4800 lbs with 200lb me and full tank of gas. That will help with your HP calculations. You can probably look at the stock weight difference between yours and mine and figure it out.

Have you done a 0-60 test yet? My best time is 8.2 seconds. I hate how the Ridgeline seems to lag for a second when you floor it, like it's saying "oh, you want to go NOW?" Even does that with VSA turned off. With it turned on it slows me down to 9.6 seconds 0-60.

Can you be more specific, please? What adapter? Spliced where and how?

That's a pretty sweet mod iceman. Nice job.

I use Torque Pro as well, but just fiddle with it and haven't really done much with it. I suspect you're using one of the Elm 327 adapters. I use a super mini Elm327 on mine. It plugs into the OBD2 port, ukrkoz.

Ahh, 11 bucks and a lot of info on the phone! Me likes.
I amy do it, but will consider different phone location. I tried glancing at the glasses tray driving yesterday, and it's quite distractive and not quite a good angle of view.
"This is not ashtray" actually looks much more appealing location. And screen will be in a dark area, easier to see.

I want to check out that theme the OP uses. That looks nice.

The sunglass caddy actually makes it really easy to see the screen. If you put it in the non-ashtray, it will make you look way too far away from the windshield to check while you are driving. The location I selected is right near the rearview mirror, so it is easy to just glance real quick.

Too bad you didn't take pictures of work in progress. I would have like to have seen the splicing and adaptor, along with where you hid things.
I will take it out and show some more pics. I need to redo the wiring because I ended up tapping into the lead that is only hot for that auto-on of the dome lights when you open the doors.

The module plugs into the OBD port and the phone communicates with it over bluetooth. I don't know any specifics about the adapter other than it is a Samsung branded lighter adapter. You can just use any adapter that charges whatever phone you are using. This is a Samsung phone so it is picky.

Stay tuned for pics when I redo it.
