Can any one please tell me what could be wrong with my Ridge, it rained last week, I drove through a 3 inch puddle of water on the highway and my battery light flashed and I lost my steering for a few seconds and then I regained control of the truck. I brought my Ridge directly to the dealer, who said there was nothing wrong with the car, but they were aware of the issue but there was nothing they could do, that all of thier suvs and trucks have this problem if water hits the belt just right. Is anyone else having this PROBLEM!!!! A 4WD I can't drive in the rain with, and is now a safety issue.:act018:

Water splashed up onto the serpentine belt, causing it to slip. Not a big deal. Just drive slower through puddles in the future. Can happen to any car or truck, not just the Ridgeline.

The way I knew this is you said the battery light came on -- that happens if the alternator is not supplying a charge, and if the belt is slipping then it's not charging.

How many miles are on your RL? The serpentine belt is something that usually gets changed when you do the timing belt (since it has to come off anyway..)
