Hello..Tuesday I will be taking delivery of my 2012 Sport in Black. My neighbor has an '09 so he is my closest "go to" guy. There are some things I do have questions about. Being he does not have a Tonneau, I will start here. I am leaning towards a soft, roll up style. I understand that a complete waterproof cover is difficult, and researching on here I found numerous reviews, but I couldn't find any recent reviews...so that would be a great help. My neighbor has the bed extender and net, which he said I can use whenever needed :act035:. I will also be buying a bed mat, so any opinions, vendors etc would be great.
Thanks..

Welcome aboard Corndog...for what it's worth, I asked around here and did a lot of research, and I'm a fan of the aesthetics and operations offered by the Bakflip VP. The only reason I haven't purchased one for mine RL yet is because I'm waiting to see pictures of one installed on an RL to see how it looks. Bakflip makes really good stuff, and they are competitively priced. Check it out here:

Additionally if you go through Tonneau Covers World you get a discount as a ROC member, just PM him for pricing.

Welcome to the show! You'll get a ton of different opinions here, however for the rollup type, it's hard to beat the Truxedo for the simple fact that it's got a lifetime warranty. I've had mine a little over a year and have had no issues with it at all.
Good luck and you've found the right place for all things Ridgeline!

Welcome to the ROC Corndog. It depends on how busy you intend to be with your truck! Is it going to be a work truck, off road, or a street truck? Once you figure that out, then dress it up according to what YOU and NOBODY ELSE likes! Make the truck your own!

Thanks Ron! Believe it or not, I found a set of chrome side steps(Westin) on CL. The guy is about an hour away, but the best part is he only wants $50! Said he has no use, doesn't like them! Going tomorrow. And he mentioned a cover for the back, that rolls up(i think its the Truxedo) Said his step dad paid $2200(really??!!) and he may want to get rid of it as well!! I am psyched! More info once I see it. I may be asking you for info(install help).
Thanks again!!!

Couldn't agree more Toobuku! I had that very conversation with my buddy who has an '07 RL. He says I'm nuts to add all the stuff I want. But after driving around in my 1990 YJ and a Windstar, yes a Windstar, its about time I have a nice ride.
Thanks for the welcome mat!

Hey Corndog, I don't think that Truxedo set him back 2200. I think mine was less than 400. Let us know what you decide to do.

Thanks Ron...first things first...i took my RL to the car wash and after watched the droplets of water as they cascaded from the passenger side "A" pillar. So....as soon as the dealer fixes it, bringing it in next Thursday, i will probably order a Bakflip. I will keep everyone posted...

$2200.00 price sounds more in line for the Honda OEM bed cover from some of the prices I've seen mentioned around here. But might be another model altogether. Check it out and let us know what you found. But yes, there are alot of other less expensive tonneau models with more/better functions. Lest you have to have OEM, many do and prefer them.

Man, I checked out waytoobuku's link. He went crazy with his RL, looks damn fine for sure. Hey as a jazz/blues/funk bassist I just dug all his music selections. Still listening to it now on my headphones as I type this. Jammin!!

Hello there. I am the proud mama or a 2012 Ridgeline and absolutely love it so far.

First of all, I need someone to tell me how I can change my user name. I inadvertently left out an S and while I have a great sense of humor, I'd like to have the S put in so it reads "sewsassy" like I intended! (I tried to log in a gazillion times and couldn't figure out why I couldn't until I took a closer look!)

Secondly, I want to get the floor liners and a tonneau. From what I've seen I think I prefer a soft rolling cover and would like to know if anyone can tell me the best brand to get, if there's any I need to stay away from and where I can get the best price on either of these?

Are the soft rolling covers something I can install myself?

Any suggestions are helpful. I hope I can find my way back here to see answers!

You already had a cordial response suggesting you opt out, and sign in the forum as a new member with your 'corrected' name. Instead, you continue to post under your old name.

I obviously did not see that response. Had I seen it and learned how to fix it, I certainly would have. Where would I find that response? Helpful assistance and a little more understanding and patience would be appreciated. This is my first experience with this site and so far I don't feel very welcomed. If that is indicative of the population here I may not be here long.

I hate to bother you again but, if it's not too much trouble, can you please tell me how to "opt out?" I have looked but see nothing regarding that or canceling my account. All I did see was in the FAQ's which stated that an admin would be able to change my user name for me which is why I posted my original note. I'm sorry I'm not as familiar with this site as swiftly as you would prefer me to be but I'm trying.

I don't know how to fix a user name. But iirc, the response was to your original post asking how to fix your user name. So look for your original post. Are you getting alerts to your threads that you post in? If not, you may need to change your preferences under Your user CP for email notifications to subscribed threads. I assume the default is to automatically subscribe, but I may be wrong.

If you don't feel welcomed here at the ROC, I wish you luck finding a friendlier forum on the 'net.

Personally, I liked your original username, ;>)

Welcome to 'The ROC'. Stick around it gets better and do read alot of the threads, esp older ones. You'll find alot of very good info and really many of these cats are very helpful folks when you need it.

I still read alot of the older threads and I understand my RL and ways to improve or even fix it much better than the day I bought it. I did read the manual front to back when I bought mine new but this site is way more informative and helpful. Hope you give it/us/them a few more chances.

I've had Truxedo roll-up tonneaus on 3 trucks - S-10, Sierra, & Dakota - and have been pleased. The newer Truxedo lo-profile model is best as the wider velcro and lower angle keeps it anchored best over the years. The only drawbacks are the side rails that stick into the bed space and I suspect the rear bar would likely interfere with opening the Ridgeline's trunk. This trunk interference is why I haven't yet opted for a tonneau. However, if I end up having to park the truck outside all the time, I'll add a Truxedo lo-pro tonneau.

Hey C-Dog, just replied to you in that other thread.

But is that a OEM roof rack? I think not if its all black. I think the OEM has some grey at the bottom of the racks, I think. If not OEM, what brand is it? I like the looks of it in all black if I'm seeing that correctly in your pic. I been thinking of a roof rack if I could find one all black in color. thanks, e.

#21 ·
Hey E..Yes..its an OEM Roof Rack...No gray..all BLACK!! :act035:
I ordered it on line from Honda of Lisle. Total shipped was $244.15. With numerous email notifications keeping me up to date, this is how many more companies need to do business. Placed the order on Oct.15, arrives on the 18th. I am lucky enough to have a great next door neighbor who is a RL owner. He had the trim tools need to remove the roof trim, and a second set of hands is needed. He also had already done the roof rack on his '09.
I will post better pics once the weather clears.
