Talked with the guy who we see when we need a touch up and area replacement on customers PPF after repaint. Chatted with him about doing my 23 RTLE PWM because Honda decided to use a dark sealer under it so rock chips are very noticeable. Dealer quoted me $2500 (BS) and the guy doing it is the same one the dealer hires. I won't say what I am paying but it's a deal.

He's is going to do Hood, fenders, bumper, A-pillars, roof up to sunroof, mirror caps, door edges, grab/ door handle pockets. And has other material he will do the H Logo/ radar cover and Headligts. And a square just ahead of the sharkfin where I will place a magnetic based antenna for Ham Radio.

All 3m products, self healing.

Planning on keeping this thing till the wheels fall off so I'm doing as much protection as possible.

Fluid film and cavity wax will happen at some point as well.

The cost often depends on whether or not there is a pre-cut template for the car the film is being installed on. The front of the car in my avatar had film applied from the front to the start of the front of the hood (I R&Red bumpers and chrome trim myself) and it was $1200 for Xpel film which is invisible except for the faint line where it stops on the body.

I enjoy waxing my BE. I use the Girots Garage 3-in-1 Ceramic wax. I turn on the bed speakers & spend some quality time waxing every paint surface including the complete doors, the sills, inside the tailgate & inside the hood where the wipers are. I might be OCD but by November 2023 I had 5 coats on. Rust protection is a must too.

😳 Wow? Back in 2019 we did basically the same coverage for $1300. You still have to look hard to see that it is even there today.

These films have come a LONG way, they almost never yellow and peel with today's stuff, however, most vendors recommend removing it after a number of years....so that's a consideration. And you can wax and ceramic coat until your arms ache, a large rock or the like will still take some paint off. Which is why I ran a nose bra even on my classics for long interstate trips.
