Oh I'll be visiting you next year for a custom color when I move to Bonham Tx bout 1hr 45 min probably.
More color pics. Thinking silver or blue or a custom combo! Could you do that?

I was looking at the photos on your site. So basically you can apply Line-X to pretty much anything. The bumper was cool as well as the entire Jeep Cherokee

1) How about the plastic steps on the back bumper? Man they can get slick!
2) Steps on a Nerf bar (Westin)? they also get slick when wet.

I'm happy to help you and I appreciate the opportunity to discuss bedliner products on this forum.

LINE-X can be applied to practically anything. The most important aspect of the application is proper surface preparation. However, soft or flimsy plastics are a little tricky. For example, aftermarket fender flares. The trick there is to completely cover the entire piece with LINE-X, not just the side that's visible. So, it would be best if the three bumper pieces could be removed, sprayed and reinstalled. Otherwise, I suggest the entire bumper be sprayed. The same goes for the nerf bar. If you have black powdercoated nerfs, just LINE-X the entire bar. That's probably not what you want to here but I'm just telling you what I know.

As anyone else had any luck with getting Honda to spray in a liner or repair the scrathes in the original bed? This is the biggest disappointment I have had with my RL. For those of you who have a bed mat, how hard is it to get into the trunk and does the lid stay open with the bed liner?

There's lots of dialogue about bed mats and the pros and cons. Let's not be repetitive about this subject when you can use the search function because it's already been said and done.

My 2 cents. I use a bed mat from truckcustomizers.com and have never regretted it. I also have the OEM tonneau cover and bed extender.

I do not believe that Honda or a dealership will install any spray-in liner through them. I know that I could get flamed for this, but I have scratches in my bed as well and will continue to get more. It is a truck and as long as the only scratches stay in the bed then life will be good. The way I am looking at this... :D ... is that any potential scratches will meet up with the current scratches in the bed and avoid my beautiful red paint.

There are dealers that are just deopends. Many dealers have elarned that these relationships with aftermarket suppliers, good ones, generate additional revenue for them! I had mine turbolined through dealer and they (dealer) guaranteed the work! Since I brought it up and they experimented with 2 of their trucks I got sweet deal !!!

Don't want black? Some LINE-X dealers (such as myself) offer non-fading exact color matched bedliners.

These obviously are not Ridgelines, but I think you get the picture (no pun intended).

How about a pink LINE-X bedliner? C'mon, I dare ya!

Hey, are you 123Gone from www.tundrasolutions.com, by any chance? If so, good to see you here and I greatly appreciate your feedback. If not, I still appreciate your assistance and feedback to the site. If you are from the website, I was My03Tundra there.

One thing I REALLY want for my Ridgeline is either a color-keyed LEER top, or a Line-X'ed bed with a sliding tie-down system for the future quad instead of the LEER.

Yes, you are correct.

Why, it's great to have you aboard! Are they any special surface preparations that need to be done on the SMC plastic to prepare it for bonding with the Line-X material?

4LINEX,

You have been beyond helpful with the information you have given us. I've had spray on bed liners on my two previous trucks and I want to do the same with the RL. In one of your post you mention a product called Just Once, I went to their website and tried to order some of their product but got error messages back. Do you buy it from the web site or do you have a local automotive supply store that sells it? Thanks again for all the information, I have sent e-mails to the two local Line-X dealers in my area and I'm anxious to see what they have to say about putting Line-X on my RL.

Thanks,

Dave

Well, Line-X said they guarantee it forever, their application process is different than Rhino (they are a "hot" process and Rhino is "cold" - to begin with) and they are a national brand. I am not sure what they did to make it stick - but I assure you it is stuck. Told me the cost was about $300 - $350 and start to finish cure time is about 3 - 4 hours.

Here we are about 4 yrs later. How's the bed holding up? Mine's badly scratched (purchased used) and in need of cosmetic work.

I use a bed matt, that i took out of my F150, cut to fit, and have never had a problem, when i open the trunk i just lift it up and roll it back, but honestly I am not in my trunk often enough for it to be an issue, my bed has some scratches on the inner bed walls but not enough for me to worry about, the outside is still perfect, my girl is a daily driver, garage queen, bought new from the dealer 12/24/05 with 24600 miles on her, I have a short commute to work only 8 miles. I like the bed matt because it keeps items from slidding around as well as protecting the floor of the bed.

This thread begs for questions:

Honda promised a bed liner that was tough and even showed large rocks being dumped into the bed with no damage. What is the warranty on the bed? Does it cover the fact that it scratches so easily? This is a $30k plus pickup truck that in some cases is considered a luxury vehicle.

I have owned a Sport Trac and a Frontier.

Having owned a Sport Trac previously and never again. I can tell you that the bed material was a bit better than the Ridgelines. Did not scratch as easily. But the truck was a POS.
The Frontiers bed was coated with a rhino lining material that faded quickly but still did not scratch as easily as the Ridgelines. Nothing wrong with this truck, Just did not have the room for my familys needs.

Maybe the ROC should start a Law Suit thread against Honda for all our beds to be done in LINE-X. Assuming you could find a LINE-X dealer that would actually install the product in the bed.

Warranty on the bed... the standard 3/36.
Where did Honda say that the bed will not scratch? They said it is dent resistant (and it is).
luxury? ummm... no, this is far from a BMW/Mercedes level of quality & refinement; but is better than it's competition.

Honda can't win no matter what they do with this vehicle
