2023, After about 200 miles the start stop function hasn't kicked on once and I'm at about 2k miles now. I'm honestly happy it doesn't work but do yall think I should get it checked out?

Update: got it fixed today. Read below for info.

Heck no, count your blessings and leave it alone. The start-stop "feature" is the only thing I really, truly hate about my Ridgeline.

As @fdeno mentioned, there is a $100 plug-in module that automatically "presses" the console button for you on every engine start, but you get an amber light on the dash indicating that Auto Idle Stop is shut off.

If you have an RTL-E or Black Edition, then a toothpick shoved in the power inverter button permanently holding it in also defeats the Auto Idle Stop. This solution does not give you the amber dash indicator. If you're handy, you can install a time delay relay to push the power inverter button on every start, too. That's what I did.

I'll share my unscientific findings. Idle/Start/Stop feature has worked intermittently ever since I got the truck in FEB 2023. For the past month, I've been noting my braking behavior in relation to this feature. I discovered that it doesn't work when I come to a stop slowly (almost coasting). If I brake aggressively (coming to a hard stop), the feature kicks in. Also, the speedometer has to come to a full 0 (it does so slowly) before it kicks in.

I was going to start a new thread, but.......
I purchased my 2023 RTL new about 2 weeks and 650 miles ago. To this point the stop/start "feature" of the truck has yet to operate. I drive it 23ish miles one way (mostly interstate) to the office and the wife and I took it out to eat Saturday night, which was a 100 mile round trip. My previous vehicle had the auto/stop-start ability and I grew to not notice it's operation and while I can't say I miss it so far with the new RTL, I do wonder why it's not working.
The battery is simply not fully charged? ....have a little patience David,
The battery, alternator or some other part of the system is not right?

IMHO, it's simply buggy system software. Chasing the inherent Gremlins will only frustrate you more. Unless you really want to take advantage of this "feature", I'd suggest letting it go, as there's no definitive solution to this intermittent behavior.

FWIW, but good luck nonetheless. :)

I'm not so much concerned about it functioning as I am about the reason behind it not functioning. I get a few free oil changes, if nothing changes between now and when I get the 1st one, I'll have them take a look at oil change time. If everything looks normal, I'm golden. If I've got a weak battery or alternator I'd like to know early on.

An idle relearn is not part of the battery replacement procedure - an internal resistance reset is.

Also, overcharging a battery simply creates more heat and damages the battery - it will not add more capacity.

The dealer probably did the right thing, but they don't understand why they did it (other than Honda told them to) and they didn't know how to document their work.
