Wireless Charging - are they all weak or just mine?

I've had my Ridgeline for a whopping five days so far. For the most part I am totally satisfied with the truck. Last night was my first long dive - two hours each way. I streamed audio & navigation through wireless CarPlay the entire drive. The phone (iPhone 13 mini) sat on the wireless charging pad with no case.
It appears that the charging pad is able to charge the phone almost, but not quite as quickly as I was draining the battery.
Does anyone know the output wattage of the factory installed wireless charging pad? The iPhone is suppose to accept 3rd party wireless charging at uptown 7.5w, but my feeling is that the Ridgeline isn't delivering that much power.

I think my next step will be to see how the phone charges over both MagSafe & Lightning plugged into the USB-C port. I'd rather keep the install neat, but I need a reliable way to charge the phone faster than I can drain it.

Also, If anyone has a clean looking charging solution, please post up a link.
I'm currently leaning toward the ProclipUSA MagSafe Holder

The fact that your charger works at all means it's in the minority. Mine works, too. Wireless chargers in general are not particularly fast, but mine seems to keep up with the drain of Android Auto playing music and navigation at the least, and actually charges beyond my usage at best. It varies, though. I have a Pixel 6, so it could just be a difference in our phones. I remember seeing once a number of parameters during which the charging will stop, so it could also be that yours was not charging the entire time due to those parameters. It also tend so to be pretty picky about where it's placed on the charger, so if it slid to the side a bit it may have stopped charging.

I did a modification to the ProClip mount. I really like the MagSafe system, even though I have an Android phone. I just put my phone in a MagSafe compatible case and it charges great. I mostly like the ProClip mount, but I think it puts the phone too low (blocking the vent) and a little too close to the steering wheel. So I cut the factory ProClip mount off of the ProClip base and fabricated my own plate that moves the phone.

Anyhow, here's how it turned out:

More info here:

I know that ProClip also has a dash mount that puts the phone over to the right of the HVAC controls. This company makes a competitor to that mount:

The wireless charger in the 2020-2023 Ridgeline is limited to 5 watts.
The wireless charger in the 2024 Ridgeline is limited to 15 watts.

The charger in the 2020-2023 Ridgeline rarely worked for anyone. I could never get it to charge any of a few different iPhones or two different AirPods in my 2021 Ridgeline for more than a few seconds.

The 2024 Ridgeline has a different wireless charger that may work better.

The same devices that wouldn't charge in my 2021 Ridgeline charged just fine in my 2023 Tesla Model Y's wireless chargers.

Honda's wireless charger supplier needs to take notes from Tesla.

Tesla's wireless charger has a chonky heatsink.

A couple of members here have disassembled the wireless chargers in the (2020-2023) Ridgelines. I don't know of anyone who has disassembled a 2024 Ridgeline charger yet.

I just bought a new 2024 Motorola Razr phone so yesterday I put it on the wireless charger while the truck was in the garage to see if the charger worked and it did show it was charging. I left it for maybe 5 minutes and was surprised to see it had added 2% on the battery. The 2024 truck was not running and was in accessory mode.

Most of the rentals I've gotten have these surface chargers. They also heat everything up so warm it's annoying. I usually just plug the phone in to the usb due to it anyway. Easier and charges better as those things just don't work that well. The charging stand one I had at home it burned itself up. Not sure what happened to it. Went back to the plugin walwart.

First - wireless charging should not be slow. If I put my iPhone 15 Pro on the Apple Magsafe charger (wireless) with an appropriate power supply, it WILL fast charge. With that being said, my 25 TrailSport did not charge the same phone but 2-3% in a 2-hour drive home Saturday night. I am very disappointed in Honda since it appears that they have had years to correct this issue.

Second, CarPlay works great in the 2025 model. I have only had one issue and it was on the phone side of the link. Closing CarPlay on the phone and then reconnecting fixed it instantly.

Apple's MagSafe charger works at up to 25 watts.

The charger in your '25 Ridgeline works at up to 15 watts, but only a maximum of 7.5 watts for iPhones.

iPhone requires Qi2 to charge above 7.5 watts. The Ridgeline's charger is Qi, not Qi2.

Using CarPlay, especially wireless creates heat. Charging, especially fast/wireless causes heat. If your phone gets too hot it will stop charging to protect itself.
I'll be more than happy if the replacement charging pad I'm getting does no more than maintain the charge in my phone.
If I need to charge my phone in the RL, I'll have a USB cable at the ready.
