So what are my options? Live in Florida, so I guess it was only a matter of time until the POS headliner in these trucks came unglued.

Got a price for $700 from local Honda place, seems crazy. It seems like now that my truck is paid off, it finds something it needs for 6-700 bucks every few months. AC condenser just needed replaced for the second time a few months back. :|

Just call a local upholstery shop, you should have some in your phone book. It will be 1/4 to 1/3 that price

No way I'd pay that for a Headliner. Honestly surprised the part is even still available. For those that want to go that direction, get it soon, many parts of the previous design will soon be unavailable, I'd guess by 2018 or 2019 G1 parts will be more difficult to source.

All I'm interested in is the fix looks great when it's done. What's happened to my headliner is like an over-night Amityville horror. Started to notice a slight drop over the front passengers, then drivers side, say, 3 months ago. Now, the sky is falling. I get it that the sunshine state is the land of humidity, but this is friggin' crazy.

Point well taken about limited availability being very much on the horizon for the G1'ers. So that factors in, too.

I'll check with local upholsterers first.

We've actually seen one for sale like that.

My concern would be there are "Side Curtain Airbags" which come down from the roof area, and cover the windows. Those screw pins in the wrong place could become a projectile, and/or damage the air bag, causing additional issues.

Here a Members solution at a local upholstery shop, When the Sky Falls Get a Professional

YMMV

Man. Is there a time bomb on these things. Last night I did a little driving with the windows down. I guess that screwed mine up.

This is the first thing that seems to make my truck a real pile of junk. Do I need to suck it up and pay up for a new headliner? If so, then I've got little to lose by trying some spray adhesive behind the fabric. Right? I've seen DIY jobs on other forums where the entire headliner comes down and is glued back on. I wonder if I could just get some good aim with my high temperature 3M "yellow" adhesive spray.

Thoughts?

Check out my thread started June 12. Just had my roof liner "re-upholstered" for just $300, including the moonroof slider shade. We, in high humidity Florida, are highly susceptible to losing the liner. Had a fantastic result.

I'm pretty big on DIY with hobby cars I have, and with several extra cars that I can't justify losing money on (older MB cars that I fix up and part out, often with the RL doing duty as the vehicle to drag them around), I like to encourage DIY threads on these forums for guys like me, the cheapest of the cheap.

Your thread, which I viewed yesterday, looks like a great start for a DIY. Not everyone can find a reasonable upholstery shop, and it's likely that the ones that we find, they won't have done a RL headliner before. In the MB forum where I do a lot of reading, the MB SL hard tops also experience saggy headliners, and DIY threads are all out there. It looks like the steps can be pretty basic. I bet it's not long before we end up with one here.

Very good point. But given the risks and the degree of savvy required, a like-new roof liner for $300 can't be beat. You got have an outfit that knows its stuff, true. I always go with the DIY option if I think I can do it as good as the pro, if not better. My liner just wasn't something I was willing to experiment with.

Just had mine done, 2007 RTL, took out to a shop here in Gainesville FL who has a great reputation, they matched it perfectly and took them about 6 hours, well worth the $300 spent.

For those with a grey interior the perfect match is color "clear grey"....My outside color is Nimbus Grey.....
