2023 RTL-E Platinum White (wanted Obsidian Blue, but they're pretty much impossible to find here)
  • North Central Florida, though drove to St Pete/Clearwater area for a better deal
  • Dealer had "Fast Buy" price of $45,425 on their website
  • MSRP $47,990
  • Dealer "protection" package $999 (tried to negotiate this down, but no go) - wheel locks, door edge film, f/r splash guards, trunk tray, nitro filled tires
  • Online dealer discount of $3,564
  • Online total at $45,245 (not included tax, tag, title, and dealer fee)

  • I was able to get an extra $1,000 manufacturer rebate with the Honda Conquest offer because I was coming from a Toyota
  • I also got the 0.9% Honda special financing for 36 months

I was able to get the price on the Ridgeline down to $42,400 before tax, tag, title
  • I traded in my 2015 Tacoma so that affected my OTD price since FL only taxes the amount AFTER the trade in value is deducted.
  • Dealer fee ended up being $999

All in all, I think I got a pretty good deal. I was a bit disappointed that their website listed an Obsidian Blue online (and still does), but they haven't had it on the lot in months. However, white was my second choice so I'm happy!

ETA: thanks for creating this thread! And thanks to everyone that posted! The whole thread was very helpful.

Hi all, new Ridgeline BE owner here. I have a feeling the previous poster and I both bought from the same dealership, I’m guessing Crown Honda in Pinellas Park. If so, smart move — they were a dealer motivated to make deals.
  • 2023 BE in Crystal Black Pearl
  • Drove from Tallahassee to St. Pete to sign and drive (all negotiation by text and phone)
  • Purchased June 30
  • MSRP $49,035 with Function+ package and destination
  • Dealer package of $999 as described above (to be fair, I wanted all these items anyway except nitro-filled tires — better than the usual VIN etching nonsense)
  • Doc fee of $999
  • Original sale price of $50,034
  • Negotiated sale price of $44,034 (includes $1,000 conquest as my wife owns a Volkswagen)
  • 11.99% discount off the sale price
  • Received the promotional lease APR of 3.29% on a 36 month 12,000 miles/year lease — that’s a money factor (MF) of .00137 and residual value (RV) of 66%
  • Monthly lease is $447 with $2100 DAS ($595 acquisition fee, $1,000 down, and first month’s payment)
  • Leasehackr score of 9.1
  • This forum was incredibly helpful in negotiating, and remember if leasing to always use the Leasehackr calculator to structure your deal before and during the negotiation

New Honda Ridgeline owner.
  • 2022 Red Ext/Black Int RTL-E w/7515 miles, essentially brand new inside and out.
  • Certified with Powertrain warranty extended to 7yrs/100K
  • Drove ~250 miles from Northern Va to Union, NJ
  • Purchased 8/12/23, but transporter will deliver to my house later this week (~$1/mile)
  • Couldn't take delivery that day, dealer hadn't completed intake inspection.
  • $42,000 OTD, 6% Tax, $799 Doc Fees, $300 Tags and Registration
  • Stupid dealer packages: $159 Nitrogen, 599 Safety Package (VIN Etching)
  • No trade, daily driver going to my son
  • Bank of America used car rate of 5.69%/60 months (dealer was going to offer something in the 8s)

  • Thanks for the forum for everyone's input

Today, Mid Atlantic Metro region.

New 2023 Sonic Grey RTL-E with a handful of standard dealer extras (mudflaps, door trim, wheel locks, etc).

TTL, no trade, conquest rebate = 45,500 OTD

$500 down and 0.9% for 36 mos.

Had the keys in under 2 hrs, all negotiation done by phone/text. MSRP is 45,185 but I saw that current factory invoice is 42,804.

Coming from a '95 Ranger (which I love) is a big leap. So pumped right now

New 2023 Ridgeline Sport
Sonic Gray Pearl
No extras
MSRP: 40,630
Price: 37,880 (plus 1,250 Conquest; not sure why it applied to the Sport model, but it did)
Doc Fee: 499

The kicker is they required Honda financing and gouged me with the secret markup on the interest rate. The lowest they would offer is 8.49%, so I'll have to refinance into a 5-6% loan to avoid giving back all the savings over MSRP.

FYI - I gave my list of accessories to Parts Dept. and they emailed me their Retail and Internal Discounted lists… This allowed me to negotiate for parts, especially for those that really require no installation.

Also, I checked with a couple of dealers near me and Sales sent me their standard INSTALLED pricing…. One was less, so I got to bargain that way too.

*Honda Incentives I got were only available West Coast thru 9-5-2023

First, thanks for posting your results. This thread was super helpful to me for the buying process.

46,106 New 2023 rtl-e msrp no other dealer add ons except theft protection

43,500 price negotiated
299 safeguard theft (already on vehicle)
-1,250 honda loyalty rebate

42,549 final vehicle price

200 license and registration
465 doc and other fees
1,690 bumper to bumper extended warranty 7r 75k miles

The extended warranty was not through hondacare but provides rental/loaner coverage if vehicle is in shop for repairs. This made it worth it to me. They started by offering various warranty and insurance packages I didn't even know existed to the tune of almost 5k.

I did get the low interest financing, opting for 2.9% for 60 months.

I traded a 2013 ridgline rtl with nav with 87k miles in excellent condition. Nadaguides valued at 16k but they discounted to 14.5k because it had a collision in its carfax history. Another dealership offered 13k for it. I only mention it because I think its pertinent to the transaction.

My report is a preliminary one but I wanted to share the data in order help others.

I put a deposit on a RL that will be built soon.

In the Atlanta Metro Area and Southern SC, any RL on the lot has about 2300-3000 dollars of BS added to it.

Mudguards, window tint, LOJACK, door edge film, etc.......with highly inflated retail "values".

Each dealer also has a dealer fee of several hundred dollars.

Once the truck has the stuff installed, they will not/can not pull it off.

That makes the whole negotiation phase pretty bogus.

I did not "steal" my truck, but I feel I got a decent deal for my area.

Getting these concessions was tough, but I kept on trying and eventually worked out a deal.

I am jealous of those that got the bigger discounts in other locations.

First- I had to convince the General Sales Manager to "bypass" the dealer pack install on a future arrival.

When my truck arrives from the factory they agreed not to install anything.

Second, I was able to get a small amount off MSRP.

Here are my details:

2023 RTL with premium paint MSRP 43610 (includes freight)
discount -929

dealer fee 849
---------------------
43,530
mil discount -500
conquest incentive -1500
-----------------
Cost before state mandated taxes/fees 41,530

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Edit on 10/13/23- closed the deal. No changes. Yay!

Try Stokes Honda in Beaufort, SC next time. I've got a deal worked on a RTL-E with them for $2000 off MSRP (no add ons), no BS fees, and $499 doc fee. Plus they were $1000 over CarMax and $3000 over other dealers on my trade. I also qualify for the $1500 conquest incentive and will take advantage of the 0.9% financing. This will be my second Ridgeline from them. I was looking at used 2021 models and newer, but the math just didn't make sense.
