I sold the '06 RL 2 months ago and found a "project" '07 Avalanche to work on. I'll report back on the differences and pros/cons between the 2 vehicles in a few weeks.

What model did you get (LT1, LT2, LTZ)? I did something similar, except I traded my 2006 Ridgeline for a 2007 Silverado in May 2007. I then traded my Silverado for an 08 Avalanche LT2 in December 2008.

It's my third Avalanche. I previously owned a 2002 and 2004.

Before anyone asks, I liked my Ridgeline, I just needed something with more towing capacity.

good luck on the avalanche. I think they are great vehicles. They ride great and are very comfortable. I just got my ridge a week ago and my first Honda. So far I like it for its size being smaller. I also like the roc site and the great people on hear helping with any questions and problems that they may have had and solved. Ive owned all of the bigger trucks and I can't see going back for me unless the Ridge has a lot of problems. I don't seem to think it will from what I am hearing. A friend of mine has an avalanche and it is great. It is a 4x4 z71 08. It is great but I do not want another big truck. It averages 15 mpg as where my ridge gets right at 19 ave. Consumer reports just ranked the avalanche best in the trucks so it must be a good vehicle to own. I am happier with the ridge for its size and other abilities that best suit what I need. Hope you enjoy.

there is some advantages to the avalanche that probably dont factor into peoples thought process.

it has a fairly robust drive train in rwd and 4wd options, you can convert it to a manual, you can lower it until the rear view mirror touches the ground. Parts for it will be available forever and if you want to turn it into a 4 wheels drive offroad drift monster with 11 teen thousand billion hp thats just a credit card and a phone call away.

I f'n hate chevy and there crappyness, but only in lieu of my honda experience by comparison.

good luck, maybe whoever bought your truck will come to love it in ways you couldnt

for instance this is the only vehicle that strippers from moreno valley like to jump in the back of :D

Normally I would stay silent on such a topic but now I feel the need to say......

WHO GIVES A CRAP ABOUT AN AVALANCHE! I HAVE BEEN A RIDGELINE OWNER SINCE JULY 2005!

I like the midgate. That's about it.

The toolboxes in the bedrail sections are also unique.
I just want to know what you're really supposed to put in them besides tools for working on the truck?

They are too obtuse for anything useful and would fit some tools wonderfully...but then getting them out is somewhat of a hassle if you're not right there at the vehicle.

It does make an awesome outpost for dirt riding though...and the midgate/shell design is pretty neat. I'm just too jaded from people asking me if my truck has a midgate to actually complement Chebby on it.

Btw it looks like they stole Ford's interior...and for stole theirs from Fisher price...in 1982.

shouldnt this thread be under the Other Vehicles topic section as opposed to the Misc./General Honda Ridgeline Discussions topic section? Also I thought this was a Honda RL forum, not a Chevy forum.

its just odd, I know when I sell my RL in the future, I will part ways with the ROC as well. Hanging around after selling an RL & rambling about an Avalanche is simply trolling in my book.

The only two ex-Ridgeline owners that currently own an Avalanche that contributed to this current discussion were the OP atikovi and jbarco (me). Atikovi had three posts and I have three, including this response. All were rather short responses. Others (including you) have driven the current length of this discussion.

Sure, I sold my Ridgeline almost two years ago. I still stop in periodically to see if there's news about any major updates planned for 2001/12 Ridgelines that would warrant me considering it for future purchases. I've probably posted 6-7 times in the last 20 months.

Does this make me a troll?

I think that if anyone is guilty of "rambling" in this thread, it is not the Avalanche owners.
