I find it seemed to sometimes conflict with my Android Auto app when they are starting up when I start my 2019 RTL-E, causng Android Auto to freeze. Once I uninstalled Hondalink, I haven't seen that problem again. I also don't see any real utility for the Hondalink app, so I don't see a loss not having it.

This points out a pet peeve of many others that the interface between the RL infotainment system and smart phone is rather klugey and outdated. Too many back and forth services between Bluetooth services and the cabled connection with Android Auto/Apple and Hondalink. Needs work.
Copy that, then I guess I'll uninstall it again. I thought that the salesman had mentioned having the app on my phone to be notified of available updates but who knows. Thanks so much.

It will notify you of recalls and stuff related to your truck but any actual integrated functionality its quite worthless. It will let you know what the odometer reads though. If its up to date. Which is probably isn't. But it might be. Sometimes.

Not sure, but I called Honda for help and conclude it is worthless, unless airbag is deployed. Then supposedly it will use your connected cell phone to call for help. Anybody know if that is the case.
Exactly my previous point. If I have a phone that is connected via BT or Android Auto, that should be enough for the vehicle to send out an emergency message if the airbags deploy. The Hondalink is needless additional complication with no value.

Apple and Google do this anyway, both have features to take advantage of the G-force sensors to detect massive changes that indicate a crash.

New owner with a 2020 RTL E. Installed Honda link on my phone and everything seemed to connect ok. It shows the correct mileage but when I try to check the weather it searches for a while then says no connection. Did a factory reset, reinstalled the app but no change. What am I missing?

Same issue here. HondaLink is always sketchy at best. On my 2017, the miles and range never worked but weather did. On my 2020, the miles and range work fine but weather data stopped about a month ago. I've tried the same resets with no luck.

They need to develop a useful and functional system like Hyundai's BlueLink.

HondaLink is not worth the memory space lost on your phone. If Honda used the same engineers that developed the software to build their cars, we all would be pushing our vehicles around the block instead of driving.

I feel better now that I know Im not the only one having a trouble with HondaLink. I seriously was starting to wonder it at 53 I may have reached the age where I was going to start having trouble with new tech and would soon be found in my front yard screaming at kids to get off my lawn.
My father who passed a couple of years ago in his 70s was more tech-savvy than me and he was not a tech guy by trade. He was an electrician.

Even though I posted earlier, wonder if anyone has had the weather feed start working again? Miles/range has been working fine.

It is humorous how in my 2017 the weather ALWAYS worked but nothing else and now everything (minus the Send to Car) but NO weather.

Again, all Honda needs is to hire a Hyundai/Kia software person and problem solved.

I've managed to get almost everything functioning correctly on my 2021 BE...EXCEPT for HondaLInk. My iPhone 11 pro is up to date and links fine with Bluetooth for phone calls, but I've tried numerous times with no luck to get a connection with HomeLink. Called Honda support, was driving in my RL when the call was returned, so they promised a call back in 15 minutes when I could get parked. It's now a week later, and no response. This app is worthless!

Have an app for our Lexus GX460 SUV that starts it from anywhere, can lock/unlock the doors, check if doors are locked or windows are open (don't think it controls windows though) and tracks the vehicle. It's kinda cool, though the rest of the electronic gadgetry on that vehicle is a little old-school
Yes! The Lexus app should be the model Honda is looking to duplicate. It's excellent. Not only can you start the car, lock it, and unlock it....you can see how much fuel you have left too. It will also send you notifications if you forget to lock your doors (which you can do with the app). It allows access to service records and lets you schedule service. You can even read the owners manual.

This seems to be Honda's idea of cutting-edge electronics...

Bingo!
Has ANYONE with a current Ridgeline (20-21) been able to successfully get HondaLink to work as advertised? If so, How did you manage to accomplish that magic trick???
This is a ridiculous situation! Honda should be ashamed, and issue a fix or a $$ rebate to all owners!

After never being able to get it to work reliably (or at all) on my '16 CR-V, '17 Ridgeline, '17 Civic, '18 Accord, '19 RDX, or '19 Ridgeline between three different phones, I finally gave up and haven't even tried it on my '21. :)

Well, I have no intention to give up. I'll continue to work on this and maybe somehow, I'll find the clue.... If I'm successful, I'll post! Amazing, I've had Ford Sinc (3 versions) BMW Connected Drive, and tried several others.. All worked seamlessly.

The best I ever got out of HondaLink was a few months of sporadic updates to the odometer reading, distance to empty, and parked location. It seems like it starts out working most of the time, then over time it became less reliable until it stopped working altogether. I tried all the usual troubleshooting from performing a factory data reset on the audio-navigation system, removing and reinstalling the app, signing out and back in to the app, etc. Even when it works, it provides extremely limited functionality and one very annoying side effect was that the HondaLink app would frequently open itself on my phone when starting the vehicle.

All I get is the odometer reading, miles to empty, and some items from my calendar that I don't know how it accesses. The vehicle information appears accurate. Aside from that, it's pretty useless. Our other car is a BMW and it's app is much more functional than HondaLink.

This is my first Honda and I'm a little underwhelmed by some aspects of the Honda experience. While the Ridgeline drives and rides very nicely and is innovative in the design of the truck bed with the tailgate and trunk the driver safety and infotainment systems don't seem to be up the the standard of many other brands. And the water intrusion issue is very surprising. While mine seems to be dry to date I'm not sure I've ever had a new car that you have to partially disassemble and check for water leakage after it rains.

I agree. My first Honda (car) as well... In my years of motoring, (60+) I've never even thought about lifting carpet in a new vehicle to check for water leaks. While I like the Ridgeline, I'm baffled by some of these issues. I've already replaced the high beam headlights with LED units, now all of this.
