i found this link on ebay, several prepainted scoops on there but this guy seems to have a quality part, i like the fact that the tape is mounted in a recess to provide a flush mount, here is one for $250 +/- prepainted to match your color. this on eis for a nissan titan but the curve of the hood looks the same.

g8rrr...thanks to you and 63Tbird...I just couldn't stop myself and ended up buying the scoop pictured on the Titan. The scoop is made of polyurethane and is pretty solid. It weighs about 8 lbs.

I know that some of you will comment on the scoop not being functional...but I dont care! :D I think It added about 50 hp to the looks. You guys on here are a bad influence! I think I need help!!!...I can't stop from adding more "stuck on" stuff...first the fender flares...then the side moldings...now the scoop!!! Somebody stop me! AAAAGGGHHHH! :D

Here's some pics...what do you think?

I didn't think I would like it...actually I thought that would look stupid on a RL...but after seeing pics of Da Ridge's hood scoop...I have to say ...it looks pretty sharp!

Thanks for the great comments guys! I was hesitant to put it on at first...but I couldn't help myself...and some how it just got on there!:D I have only had positive comments from everyone who has seen it in person...and believe me...I have friends that can be brutally honest!

Nice bug catcher!! Just kidding.
Looks better than I thought it would. Paint matches good also. One of kind:)

OK, you know what? I look at that and just don't get it. Yes, there seems to be a national obsession over upgrading and modifying small import cars, and I'm sure it's fun to do. But this isn't a small import any more than it is a sports car at all.

To me, a modification has to either:
1 - Remove a design flaw in the original design.
2 - Improve a physical characteristic of the vehicle for a specific purpose.
3 - Improve the performance & handling of the vehicle.

What does this one do? Taken by itself, the CF hood is neat to see, but it isn't going to improve the weight balance or any other physical characteristic of the vehicle enough to improve balance, performance, or handling.

So I just don't get it.

Agreed. Thrown in what should also be OEM as well for the RL.

definetely makes the truck look sportier
its amazing to see how many hood scoops there are out there on the road when you start to look for them and i bet 99% are just for looks, so dont sweat it.

.......lowers the center of gravity.
cf hood weighs 75% less than a metal oem.
and while you may not notice a difference, its the principle thats important.
(on a small import such as a civic Si, you can shave 150 lbs. by using a cf hood/hatch which is a huge savings when your pinching pounds, in addition to lowering the roll point....I mean people rip their whole interiors out to save 50 lbs.)

I do agree it would be a little inappropriate on the ridge, like a hood scoop.

I like the look of a CF hood but I'm afraid of them. I have seen a couple of accidents in which carbon hoods didn't fracture and pretty much decapitated the occupants of the car.

Joz it would only work on Black Ridges. And your tonneau cover as a cape?

I had a hood scoop on my subaru that was functional. It was amazing the stuff that got wedged in the intercooler. Bugs, tar, leaves and sticks, and dust among other things. With the lack of a turbo & the oversized cooling fans already in the truck a hood scoop is over kill. Now if someone makes a turbo kit....

What no one is mentioning is how great the hood scoop looks from the INSIDE of the truck, it is indeed very ergonomic and flows with the lines of the hood, it also gives the driver something more interesting to look at and a center of reference. I think the other guys with hood scoops will agree, the view out the windshield is significantly improved.
