Lowering the G2 RL?

Has anyone even broached the idea of possibly dropping the RL a bit?

I've been seeing talks of lift kits and I'm sure those are a ways a way. I'm also pretty sure suspension or coilovers to lower the RL will probably be non existent for this truck.

It's the JDM mindset I suppose. I can't seem to shake it even after getting a RL!

There's no need to worry. The truck will ride great. Read past posts on the 06-14 Ridgelines I've lowered, at least 25 on here alone. Not one complaint. It will ride just as good. Already ordered Honda springs. Yes!
Jason, if you don't mind, couple of questions.

How long will it take you to have them for sell? (just a guesstimate)

Did you have to revise the springs you made for the G1 or were they good to go from the first set?

Have you decided on how much the front and rear will drop?

Do you have any links to videos showing the replacement, a quick search of YouTube didn't show any.

Thanks for doing this, looking forward to getting a set.

2 months. New springs are needed, but will be designed like gen one for drop and look/feel/ride. 2".

For pics, Just look at the pics I posed earlier in this post, or search on the forum here of the 06-14, it will sit basically the same. Just slightly lower in the front, but not as much as now.

The gen 1 springs worked great and I never had one return or complaint on ride quality. So, that's the good part!

Thanks Jason. As to video, I wasn't talking about how it looks, I was hoping someone had filmed the actual replacement of the springs. I know the Gen1 probably wouldn't be exactly the same but at least it's closer than anything else on YouTube (I did this back in the 70's when I was 16 and raised a Nova front end by 6" to give it that "gasser" look so I know it can be a little dicey trying to compress springs for removal/install).

Hi. New here.
I'm looking to level the RL. Preferably by lowering the rear. BUT if the spring kit means lowering both front and rear, I'll have to go with the front leveling kit from Truxxx and raise the front to match the rear. As opposed to lower the rear to match the front.
I will not lower the front as well as the back. Because I'd be in the same place I am now.
Let me know,,Jason.

Also, I've taken a couple of motorcycles to Penske in Pottstown (back when I used to be the first kid with the new toy) so they could develop rear shock for the specific model.
Push comes to shove, I'll buy a stock rear spring, take it to them and ask them to source two replacement springs 1.5" shorter.
Just a thought.

Yes, I know all about spring rates, progressive springs (purple hyperpro come to mind), preloads and damping rates.

In progress.... I can't always do everything I want to do, but was able to pull this off. Can't remember if I mentioned it in here, but we ordered front and rear springs in from Honda (was trying to get a vehicle, but no dealer was willing to loan for a few days. The front springs were backordered from Honda, that's why I was asking people earlier for help, but hopefully shouldn't be too long. Hopefully 30 days.

Jason B, the ultimate fit for me (and I'll bet others) would be to have a adjustable coil over strut front and rear so one could raise the suspension 1" -2" in the Winter and then lower it in Summer. You would have infinite adjustability (well, within the limits of the threaded sleeves and clearances) to set what height front and rear as you wanted. You could also use adjustable camber plates to do any camber correction needed. Have you had any kits like that developed for any other trucks/cars?

Springs only are a no go for me I want to raise back up for winter. I was just planning to use BC coilovers for 2014+ MDX with maybe different springs rates. Not a huge fan of BC so a US made option would be fantastic.

Here is Pilot lowered on Megan coilovers ( MDX 14'+) with stock 20s. Not a fan of it being that low

Jason, can you clarify. On your site the description says it drops the rear AND front 2" but it looks like it might be a description for the Gen1 springs. All the previous discussions for the Gen2 said the front would remain the same OEM height to take the rake out. And how much does the rear get dropped; is it in fact 2"?

Not true. One post mentioned dropping the front 1" and 2" in the rear but Jason never said it would be a 2" drop front and rear (at least in this thread and all my texts with him). Think most people that want lowering springs have already put on larger rims and tires and I'm afraid there could be a chance of rubbing (I have zero rubbing now with a 265/50R20). Not to mention, love the look of a leveled truck.

Can't we have a choice between zero drop front springs and 2" drop (even if the zero drop springs cost more, I would be willing to pay). Here's a Gen1 that supposedly only has the lowering springs on the rear, front is OEM. This is exactly the look I want.

If the kit does lower the front 2", I will probably make a 1" to 2" (not sure what thickness yet) spacer that will fit in between the top of the strut cap and the body so it doesn't drop the front too much.
I was thinking, I do have one of the TRUXXX 1.5" leveling kits that I haven't installed yet, I could just use it which would lower the front just .5" when used with the 2" lowering springs.

Wish we could talk Jason into making front springs with just a 1" drop, I don't see too many people asking to drop what is already a fairly low front end another 2". Plus that doesn't take any of the rake out of the stance. Sounds like your solution with the lift adapter kit will work. Hurry up and get it installed ?

Are you going to do it yourself or have the dealer do it? Please remember to take measurements before and after, it's almost impossible to find info on the Gen1 springs. Have you upgraded to larger tires, I'm really worried about rubbing.
