Yes, I read some posts on this issue.

Here's 2 questions:
1. Stupid one. Why does information show check emissions system, if it's powertrain code?
2. I still have 5K miles on warranty. Is this warranty repair?
I scanned mine with good scanner, reads OBD2 and CAN codes, clear says "powetrain code".

Here's a guess. let's see what the dealer says.

PO325-Knock Sensor. The knock sensor is a control input to the computer which tells the computer to pull timing out of the advance when it senses vibration (knock). This richens the gas/air mixture as well and typically reduces power.

This could be due to bad or lower octane gas, altitude, or unusual load characteristics (trailering)...or just plain old-fashioned malfunction of the sensor. Doing a little bit of internet searching indicates Honda has TSB's out on this for a number of models. So does Nissan.

Knowing Honda and their fanaticism for low emissions, they may have elected to have the malfunction reported as an emissions code light since the engine will still run and generally there is no immediate danger of ruining the engine. The engine does not run as efficiently, and hence the emissions will rise and thus the emissions code. Also, if the engine is run continuously in this mode, you run the risk of damaging the catalytic converter, also an emissions concern.

All other things seeming fine, and if it weren't covered by warranty, I would be tempted to add some known good gas, reset the code, and see if it reappears

I'll just let them have it. They will have to take air intake off to get to sensor, I'll pay to do valve job. And spark plugs.
But yes, funny you mentioned. I did pull some dirt not so long ago.
Otherwise, I can tell NO difference in how she runs. Runs fine. Don't want to reset code, for dealer purpose.

It's probably just semantics. Some systems call it a CEL or check engine light, some call it an MIL or malfunction indicator light, some call it a DTC or diagnostic trouble code. They all mean the same thing. Its not much of a stretch to call it a powertrain code.
It's my understanding that the CEL is for anything emissions related and, really, pretty much anypart of the drivetrain can affect vehicle emissions. This is opposed to modern vehicles which can have SRS codes, BCM codes, HVAC codes among others.
As for your code, the knock sensor detects and abnormal condition in the burning of fuel. That is definitely an emissions issue as well as a powertrain issue.

You may have had a rodent eat the knock sensor wiring. There is a thread and pictures somewhere on here about that very issue.

yeah, I saw those. Car indeed is parked outside in a carport. Not sure, why rodent will prefer that particular sensor wire, he-he. Must be gourmet insulation.
But it's most peculiar, as on that side of the property, they are flipping a house that had years and years of trash behind it. With rats, accordingly. We look into buying it, and had walk through with current owners. They told us they found rats inside so fat, they could not move.
Guess, they now switched to Honda Special Low Fat diet?

Darn.
They did find a mice nest right underneath the air intake. And they did chew through the insulation. Bob told me, they get A LOT of this. And if the service guy tells you they get A LOT of a particular situation..
Anyhow, sensors are covered under 3 yr warranty.
So I am forking for it. Guess, rat poison goes all around the car now. That comes with parked outside in carport.
