I agree with rzc. Honda should have added this feature to begin with. Most people don't use their signals or for that matter even look when they change lanes. Hopefully the lights are visible from the side of the RL. This is the only reason why I would want it. Thanks for the heads up rzc on the places to buy these items. Please let us know how the install goes.

Ok hard part is done.... Ready to go, just need to wire it up. That's what the weekend is for.

Thanks to all the contributors, it sure made it easier. For me the the hard part was separating the top and bottom cover, mainly because you have to push on the tabs at 2 different places.

Removing the glass was not bad but for some reason, just like everyone else, the passenger side was a little harder. I had use a pick and a 2" wide trim tool which made thing go easier. No damaged glass for me.

Yes.... Made by CorsoMotion. I got it from another member here. It has parking, turn, and brake light abilities.

Another option is to use after market signal mirrors. They replace your factory mirror glass with signal mirror glass. You can check with Burtman Industries

@DUnder- thanks for chiming in.

I do have these available for the 2017+ Ridgeline. This is a nice factory looking signal mirror and you can also choose COLOR options for red or orange led.

Greetings all. Sorry for replying to a year old thread, but I literally signed up just so I could say thanks to everyone for the photos and write ups on this project. I’d originally come searching for vehicle specific tips on installing the Muth Signal Mirrors as I had them on a previous ‘03 MDX and ‘00 Odyssey. I didn’t think adding the OEM style signals would be possible without replacing the entire assembly at $500 a pop. (...and I don’t get why things like this and many other things like cooled seats are available on Canadian models and not US models … but that’s a whole different topic.)

I ended up using a combination of all the methods I read here. I used the Pilot harnesses so I only had to pin in and run one wire from each door vs all the way to the mirror. Running the wire through that conduit from the door to the body was a thrill, but I got it done.

I took the mirrors off the truck first and used the masking tape and screwdriver method to remove the glass. I was still a nervous wreck doing that as I busted a mirror back when installing the Muth mirrors (can’t remember which car and luckily really didn’t matter much since you replace the glass with the Muths), but I got them detached pretty easily with no casualties.

I really only had two issues, and one may have been self induced...

The first was as one person recently mentioned, separating the colored section from the mirror was a total PITA due to those multiple clips you have to unclip all at once. Many swear words were said.

The other issue was the driver’s side LED didn’t work once I installed it on the truck. Luckily I thought ahead and left reinstalling the glass into both mirrors until the VERY last step just in case I had to go back in there. After a fair amount of troubleshooting, it turned out one of the pins inside the LED itself had folded over and wasn’t connecting. It’s possible I did that when initially plugging in the harness … who knows. After getting things bent back into shape, all was well.

All in all, I want to say it took maybe 6 hours over two days as I started really late on day one. I just wish it didn’t take me 4 years to actually do this.

Inside wires running to door, remove foam

Remove some inner skin to get inside door

Remove door loom from door. Fish wiring through. Curse, bleed a little. Remember it will all be worth it

I cut a hole in the grommet that holds on the inner padding and ran wires out the center, then soldered to mirror wires. Leaving a service loop in case I had to cut some off later since there is no clip.

Positive wire attached at fusebox with a positap. I'll do something better with both grounds when I do the passenger. Works for now though.

Wonder what cable is for the mirror heat

Just want to take a minute to thank Pairofkings for being a pioneer and Lunarmonkey for your invaluable picture guide. I finally finished installing the turn signals for my BE since I already have the doors torn out to install deadener and speakers. I did break the mirror on the passenger side. Luckily, a local dealer had it within 2 days of ordering. The wife did not need to know so it was great! I did the passenger mirror first and it took me about 3 hours. Half of the time was me staring at the plastic clips wishing I have a 3rd hand. Driver-side mirror was a breeze since I had the process organized in my head, about 1 hour total from start to finish.

Running wire through the door was annoying but it's not too bad. All you need is 8" (or longer) plastic ziptie. Attach the wire to the clip. On the door, pop out the rubber boots between the door and the door frame and the ziptie will run right through.
