Some of them work with no problems. We have a 2023 RTL-E built in Oct/2023 and our wireless works every time we lay a phone on it. My wife and I both have Iphone 13 Pro models with Otterbox Magsafe cases. I read about this problem on this forum before we purchased our truck so I tested it on the truck that we purchased before buying it. We took delivery of the truck the week before Thanksgiving (2023) and the wireless charging has never failed to activate when we have laid either of our phones on the mat. I don't have a clue as to why ours always works and others don't but it does (every time). I hope that Honda comes up with a solution for the ones that don't work. It has to be very frustrating for owners of the defective charging mats.
It’s asking a lot, but I’d love to see a video of it working. Nobody has been able to produce that. I have a sneaking suspicion you are being tricked. It will light as if it is working for maybe 30-45 seconds then it will stop. You have to watch your phone closely to see if the ⚡ is still showing over the battery icon. If you slide you phone over to see the charge LED it would be flashing if failed. Nobody has posted it ever working.

My Nov 23 Build worked for a bit till the new is came out. It had to be on my MagSafe case. Now it charges for 30 seconds and quits. Hit a bump so the phone moves a bit than it will try again. iPhone 13 Pro Max. Friend still has the iPhone X and it charges no problem.

@Nervey I’m with you, I think a lot of people think they’re charging, I would also like to see a clear video because never in my life have I seen one that works rather we’re talking about mine or multiple that I showed a salesman on the lot one day. I told him they didn’t work he didn’t believe me so we went out in the parking lot and tried 4, that’s all he wanted to do. I was willing to keep going. Not one of them charged my iphone. It was an iPhone 13 or 14 at the time I can’t remember. I have a 14 pro now which doesn’t charge. I totally believe some must work, but I’ve never found one, and there are a few and far between.

The frustrating thing is that mine sometimes works. Yesterday on the drive to the gym (20 mins) it worked. On the drive home, nope. I try to replicate where I placed it but no joy. At this point I wish it never worked because every time I get in I put my phone on the pad with the hopes that it will

I think I may have mentioned this prior but Ill update after a month of use just as a point of interest.
my wifes 22’ Jaguars wireless charger acted “exactly” the same way as my RL. Very hard to find the sweet spot and if I did it would charge for a few seconds then stop. Like my RL, useless.
Then about a month or so ago I get a notification on the dash of a software update (nothing unusual get them regularly) but this one included an up date the the wireless charger specifically addressing how it interacts with iPhones.
Since that update I can toss my iPhone on it and it immediately starts to charge and stays charging.
Point being a crappy charger was fixed without changing the hardware.

My 2024 works fine. I wonder if you all could take the guts out of a 24 charger and plug it in to a pre-24. Maybe the wiring harness is the same? Or even better, wonder if the whole assembly will fit in a pre-24
This is what I am hoping. If it is the case, since my 2023 is under warranty the dealer could just upgrade it. I’ll be very curious to hear when somebody can confirm. I would check with the dealer, but they won’t even admit, there’s a problem to begin with.

The wireless charger in my '22 RTL-E works great, and has since I bought it used about a year ago. Was it fixed before I got it? Don't know, don't care. It's stock, though, so it doesn't really matter anyway. I know for a fact that it's working because I drive a lot and use Android Auto via a wireless dongle, and the charging status shows on the infotainment screen. It's always on. When I take it off the charging pad, it shows that on the screen. When I'm driving around all day just listening to podcasts, the charger keeps up with the power draw. If I'm using Google maps for directions a lot, then the charger cannot totally keep up, but the charge only drops a little bit. Way less than if it wasn't charging. I would take a picture of it working, but I can't do that with my phone sitting on the charger....

I think androids charging are more likely than an iPhone.

Played again today taking my friend back to the airport. His iphone X running iOS 15 charges no matter where it's placed on the pad. With and without his OtterBox. His GFs iphone mini charged no problem. Dropped my 13PM on it flashy light after 30 seconds. I am feeling this I'd definitely a software issue now and not the charger. I'd love to see the difference the 24s charger has and if it could be retrofit to work on the 23 and older.

If it's a software issue, both Apple AND Honda's supplier have had three years to fix it...and they haven't, so... :)

There are many sources stating iPhones, et al, support the Qi standard.

"Qi is a wireless charging standard used for wirelessly powering electronic devices such as smartphones, headsets, and wearable gadgets. …
… Currently [March 13, 2023], smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, etc. support this standard."
"It defines wireless power transfer using inductive charging over distances of up to 4cm…"
I'm putting the blame on Honda.

I've noted that I drive for the local Honda dealership. I've not had real good luck with the Honda chargers until the other day I took a 2024 Ridgeline on a dealer trade. The charger worked "good". That is, it did charge my phone without a lot of fiddling and moving. Just laid it down and it charged. So perhaps they do have them working better.

I say "good" as I drove a 2022 Chevy Traverse the other day and it's charger seemed to charge faster. I really like my Ridgeline but it is kinda disappointing that Honda hasn't been able to get something as simple as this working better.

And Honda claims the charger supports the Qi standard, so someone is lying. :)

I have good-quality Mophie wireless chargers, cheap Yootech chargers, and two wireless chargers in my Tesla that all charge my iPhones and AirPods just fine. The charger in my '21 Ridgeline would charge for a few seconds then stop with a blinking light.

I actually got mine to work this morning! Randomly tossed my phone on it and it stayed solid green and was charging with my UAG case on my 13PM. At an angle centered so I could just barely see the light and the bloody thing topped my phone off! So it will work with newer iphones you just got to find the right angle of the dangle.

I'm talking a mm in any direction and no it won't work but when you find that sweet spot and it charged my phone from 95-100 in about 5 mins.

**And it won't work again on my way home. I even had tape to place it right back where it was this morning. What a temperamental SOB
