The mirrors tilt down so you can see the curb and not curb your rims.
The mirrors do tilt down one at a time, but... But it does not prevent curbing the rims, especially when the tilted mirror side is not changed. I know, I am the first know when it happens... 😱

Help me envision this..... what is the advantage to the mirror tilt down?
Avoid wheel rash on wheels while backing into a tight spot

Instrument/Ambient light brightness: In adjusting the brightness to dim the instrument lights but retain the intensity of the ambient lights lower the brightness by one detent, this retains the ambient brightness but dims the instrument lights as to not by over bright at night. I adjusted them but in doing so lost most of the ambient brightness. One click from full brightness lessons instruments but retains ambient brightness ENJOY

You really need this function since you can't open the door and see where you are backing like one could do for the past 100 years. Surely don't like the auto park feature if the door opens.

It's been well discussed that on models with the heated steering wheel, remote starting turns the heated steering wheel on. But getting in and cancelling the remote start so you can drive the Ridgeline shuts the heated steering wheel back off again. I learned the other day that this also applies to the heated windshield wiper area which is a bit more odd because unlike the steering wheel, the heated windshield will automatically turn on every time you normally start the Ridgeline.

Whenever it's cold outside and I start my Ridgeline, the heated windshield wiper area button in front of my left knee lights up indicating that the Ridgeline automatically turned the windshield heater strips on. 99% of the time I reach over and tap the heated windshield wiper area button to turn the heater strips off simply because it's not needed. So this time of year, it's a bit of a habit to have to tap that button.

The last few days have been colder than average. The other day my Ridgeline read -17°F on the way into work and -8°F on the way home. So two days in a row I remote started my Ridgeline. That's how I noticed that after getting in, pressing the brake pedal, and tapping the START button to put the Ridgeline into regular run mode that the windshield heater was off.

So if I get in and start the Ridgeline, the heated windshield function will automatically turn on. But if I remote start the Ridgeline, I believe that during the remote start time the windshield heater is on (along with the heated seats and heated steering wheel), but when I get in and cancel the remote start the heated windshield feature turns off (the heated steering wheel also turns off, leaving only the heated seats on).

In other words, in the cold the heated windshield wiper area feature inverts depending on remote start or not. Weird.

I absolutely appreciate those tilting mirrors. It would be kind of nice if there was a tilt function switch to use them in Drive and Reverse. There are times when I'm rolling forward and would like to see where I'm at on the curb or edge of the road/drive. But better having what is there than not to have anything.

That is the "reverse" delay mechanism I wish Honda had. Similar to my old Audi. I wish the backup camera, reverse mirrors, radio audio lower, and parking sensors would stay in effect until reaching forward speed of 2 mph. Boat ramps, loading ramps, parking garage/lots, trailers, whatever, would be much easier.

In the spirit of similar threads for the G1, I figured I would start a similar thread for the G2. Here are two...

1. The RTL-E and Black Edition have a memory driver's seat and side mirrors. If you have the mirror control set to L or R, the corresponding mirror will tilt down in reverse. What surprised me was if you toggle between L and R while still in reverse you can tilt the other mirror - however, the one you switch away from tilts back up. They can't both tilt down at the same time.

2. While sitting in the garage with the ignition on and engine off, I heard a fan running under the hood. At first, I thought it was the radiator/condenser fans, but I had the climate control set to off. Upon closer inspection, I discovered the battery has a cooling fan mounted on the enclosure.
May sound petty and stupid, but a regular size box of facial tissues (aka Kleenex) fits nicely in the low console of the 2023 model and any previous years with that same low console. It is so nice to be able to snag a tissue quickly if I have to sneeze and they're handily there when I need to blow my nose. Seems I have a bit of a condition there. I am so happy I ended up with a 23 instead of a 24 for that one reason only.

In another petty kind of way... I also dropped the Sirius subscription when it ran out, because I learned I could take all those CDs I collected since the 1980s and record them onto flash drives. I have like 8 of the small "thumb drives" in the opening below the heat/air switch panel, those 8 have around 75 CDs on them! I love it. One with 80s, one with 70s, one with Michael Stanley/Bruce Springsteen, one with Linda Ronstadt... I need to go through and make up a flash drive "Driving music" selection, stuff that is just road oriented, like Montrose "Bad motor scooter" and Steppenwolf "Born to be wild". Just love it. I get to hear what I want when I want. I even picked up some CDs to add on the drives. Figure Sirius costs like $24 a month, that's like three or four new CDs I want. No way I spend that much monthly, but just sayin' I will have what I want when I want, not finding three of the rock stations playing Led Zeppelin or Rolling Stones at the same time.

Here is one thing people may not have noticed - on the instrument panel, the green accents on each side (outside of tachometer on left, outside of fuel & engine temp on right) fade to white (and maybe to another color) if you're driving aggressively.

With only a minute or two of searching online I couldn't find any details about this online, but next time you're accelerating take a look at how the color changes.
And colors can be changed from what I read in the manual.

If the colors can be changed, I think that is new. But that dash green to white fade is the ECO indication, so to speak. Almost like the old instant metering for gas usage, but measuring overall economy in that moment.

It's the "new" definition of mid-size, which is approximately what a full-size was 20-30 years ago. Full-size have gotten bigger in the race to see who can tow more and carry more. There is also a provision in the new CAFE regs that rewards larger vehicles (how insane is that?!?).

Also, as people have gotten larger and fatter, they prefer more room inside their vehicles, so that has also driven demand for larger vehicles.

I think there is still a big market out there for a true compact pickup, but I don't think any auto mfrs have the cajones to dip their toes in the water, except maybe Hyundai, and it is likely that even theirs will be geared more toward people-hauling than cargo-hauling.

Wish Honda would build a HRV-based mini-Ridge with turbo four, mega-single-cab, and 6.5-foot bed....
I would look very closely with enthusiasm if Honda ever did a mini-Ridgeline with the HR-V and a turbo 1.5L 4. Our Civic ran pretty good with that engine and got like 36 mpg. I'd have one in a heart beat.

Funnel is needed if you ever want to add fuel treatments as well.
You got sick gas? In my town, 85 is the low-priced octane and 87 is often 20¢ higher, so its worth the short drive cross town to Costco for TopTier 91. I do remember those wintery days at higher elevation and sub-zero temp feeding yellow jugs of alcohol into my straight six Ford, but no need nowadays.

If you decide you want Sirius at some point, you should call and talk to them. I've had my Ridgeline for 5 years and it came with a serious subscription and I've been paying no more than six or seven dollars a month this entire time. I just call him and tell him to cancel unless they're going to give me their best price. And they do.

Yeah, I know they play the games, kind of like Spectrum cable, they jack up payment costs and it's up to the consumer to battle them every couple years or whatever. I'd think the longer one was a loyal customer the better the price should be, but obviously they don't think the same.

The other reason and the biggest reason not to bother with Sirius was the play lists. There are only a few channels I like and when the three I like best actually were all playing Stones one time and Zeppelin another. Then there were a few times when two were playing the same song. I would have stayed with them if they'd played more variety and even some rare album cuts like it used to be in the golden days of FM rock and roll. When I was in college at Kent State WMMS out of Cleveland was incredibly good with a lot of variety and few repeats if any in a given day. Wasn't unusual to have them play entire album sides. They were big on Springsteen, Queen, Boston, and Rush when few other stations played any of it. I was spoiled...

So now I do my own flash drives with the music on them. But I appreciate your comments none the less.

I with you. I'm probably going to fire Sirius next month. I recently got and unlimited cellular plan and have been using Pandora ever since. I like it much better that Sirius.

Maybe not noticed by everyone, or maybe special to my truck, but for those dropping XM due to their insane charges there are both FM and AM tuners, at least in my truck, and they don't charge even the "best rate", nothing at all!
