I have had my 2025 BE for about three weeks now and it would not go into gear nor reverse by pushing the button. After about 30 seconds I realized my door didn't shut all the way. Some sort of safety feature. My question is what would happen if someone opened the door at speed? I am afraid to try it.

I had a friend open my passenger door from inside while I was still moving a few miles per hour and I didn’t notice it slam into park, BUT I also hit the brakes hard cause I thought it may go into park cause I know this is a feature Not only on the Ridgeline but had it in my last 2014 Jeep with a shifter but it was electronic , the Jeep would apply the electric parking brake when the door was opened, but you could bypass/override it by putting in park then in R or D with the door open and it would let you drive slow in R or D . I have not tried that with the Ridgeline

Edit: I went right out and tried to keep Pushing Reverse with the door open and it will not let you move or override it, just keeps going into park .

If it wouldn't switch into gear, then you probably didn't have your seatbelt on while the door was open, correct? You answers lie in here. Page 370

Ok I did not have my seatbelt on, wasn’t even thinking about that that’s fine if I’m wearing it for the rare occasion to open door and to go up or down ramps or whatever. I thought it just did it no matter if belt on or off, Thanks 😎.
My Jeep did it with belt on or off but could override it.

Things I have noticed is that my Honda RL is not as reliable as my subarus.
One thing I noticed about Subarus…. nothing. I never notice anything about a Subaru. Sometimes I forget they even exist until I see one drive 40 on the freeway. And then I say… oh they still exist? Oh. Neat. Then I pass them and see the baffled choice in life look… I crack my window and let the puppy hang his head out to show them a little joy in life. And then find that I’m blocked by a Prius. That’s when I say to the Prius owner… you need a Subaru.

What issues have you had?
He said in another post it's been in for repair more than 25 times. If it is a '19 that is an average of once every 3 months (minimum). I can't even schedule appointments that will hold that frequently :)
a) Other posts say he has installed Skids and Tranny Coolers, so something tells me it's self inflicted
b) He says he has a Black Edition with Nighthawk Black and Beige. That doesn't exist.
(shrug)

I hope this qualifies:

Being a "capless" fuel tank, you need to use the special funnel located in the in bed trunk spare wheel slot to decant gasoline from a gas can/bottle/container or "portable fuel container" as the manual words it!

Thing is...I just went to look for it I my new RTL-E .... and .....it's not there despite the sticker on the fuel cap and owners manual stating it was supplied and located in the trunk!

Can everyone please check to see if their emergency funnel was supplied and where it is located? I think I can see the cutout of where it was supposed to be in the styrofoam insert of the spare tire.
Found mine in the very back of the styroform insert.

Here is one thing people may not have noticed - on the instrument panel, the green accents on each side (outside of tachometer on left, outside of fuel & engine temp on right) fade to white (and maybe to another color) if you're driving aggressively.

With only a minute or two of searching online I couldn't find any details about this online, but next time you're accelerating take a look at how the color changes.
Find a clear-ahead road. Take "off" of ECO mode. Stomp on it (even slowly stomp on it). They will turn red (bad boy bad boy). Economy reminder...you're burning much more fuel with that acceleration. Now...how to get Honda to use 1/3 of that trunk to store batteries for a HYBRID model...

I had assumed that the analog speedometer was actually all digital made to appear analog. Today I discovered that the needle is an actual moving mechanical needle.

Am I the only one who didn’t know this?

Red? I'd like to see a picture of that.
