My son just bought an Anycubic Kobra 3 V2 combo. He says he likes it. I've seen some of the multi-color stuff he's printed and some of it is impressive. It's been years since I've messed with 3D printers and I was surprised how relatively inexpensive this combo was (compared to just a few years ago) and how many more features it has. I think he said it cost $400.

Here it is not quite fully set up yet, but it's printing a Benchy Boat:

The kobra 3 has one big advantage over my kobra s1: the 4-way filament hub is right there on the hot end, so changing colors during a print takes WAY less time. Mine has about 2ft of Bowden tube between the hot end and the filament hub, so it seems like it takes about 60 seconds just to retract the filament back to the hub before it can start feeding in the next color, which takes another 60 seconds. The K3 only has to retract and push a couple of inches, so that should only take a few seconds. The waste when purging on either machine is probably still the same, but that's to be expected with any of this type of system. Only way around that is to have multiple tool heads, and that's EXPENSIVE.

I'm seriously considering modifying mine to have the hub up inside the machine to eliminate over half of the tubing length it currently needs to go from the ace pro box to the hot end. It will mean extending the hub sensor wiring though, or maybe just buying the hub sensor that the K3 uses, since they ought to be basically the same other than wire length. I figure if the K3 can do the same speeds as the KS1 then it shouldn't be that big of a deal to add this mass to the print head (even though the mass would technically be attached to the cable chain, not directly on the print head)...

Well, I'm back up and running with a new nozzle.

I published this new model today - I guess it kind of fits here as a possible 3D printed Ridgeline accessory?

It's a simple keychain flashlight.
I've been having too much fun with this mini flashlight - I made a new version that is a little larger, easier to assemble, and has customizable logos.

Just got a Bambu X1-C and printed the cubby holder. What manufacturer filament and color matches the closest to the OEM plastic around it ?
Awesome little printer. Did you get the AMS (multi filament). I made the only interior parts for the truck, cup rings, with PLA and it shrunk and warped over time... probably due to the hot cabin. I want redo them with black ASA, but I have recognized recently that I have a severe procrastination disorder. It took me decades to determine I have this affliction. :)

ASA will withstand the summer heat better and although it is not important to your part, handles UV better. If you want your part to look better, use your .2mm nozzle... but it will take more than twice the time to print it.
ASA | Bambu Lab US Store

And finally, get a good GLUE.
Amazon.com: 3D Printer Adhesive Glue Bed Weld Original, Strong Grip Reduces Warping for ABS, ASA, PLA, and PETG Filament on Compatible Build Plates, 118ml, 4 fl oz : Industrial & Scientific

use a textured build plate for the side that shows, if you can...

People here know loads more than I do about 3d printing, so they can correct me if I'm misleading, but I think that's your ticket.

I don't have a Bambu, but with modern PEI bed surfaces, glue or hair spray isn't really needed anymore, unless maybe you're printing something with a tiny bed contact area and even with a brim it still comes loose - then yeah, use glue or something. Even my old ender 3 got a massive boost in bed adhesion when I upgraded from the stock plastic bed to a PEI bed.

Also, PETG filament holds up just fine even in the Texas heat, and it's much cheaper and easier to print than ASA.

I used OVERTURE PETG Black on my second try of it. Just using the stock nozzle it turned out well. Very smooth in the front that shows. I only keep my clip on sunglasses in a case in there anyway. It blends in well with the rest of the console with that one. The Grey PETG I used prior was a little too light.

If anyone is interested in the Light Grey one I'll ship it over to you.

Here it is in Elegoo gloss black PETG. I don't really have any brand loyalty for filament - this was just the cheapest black PETG on Amazon when I needed some. The gloss really only shows up if you go looking for it. From the driver seat it looks pretty much the same as the surrounding plastic, just slightly smoother since the factory plastic has a little texture that the drawer does not. If it really bothered me I could sand the drawer to get rid of the shine, but it's fine as is. If it really bothers you, they make matte finish filaments too.

I see what part you meant. I thought you were referring to the textured plastic and printing a console canals organizer. Good job on it.

I'd love to print this trunk caddy for my kayak strap storage. Does anyone have this shareable design?
I did't find anything on Yeggi.

I saw these in a Facebook group, printed in red.. they looked great. But in Facebook fashion, I can’t search worth a damn and everything just goes away without a trace until you never want to see it again. The 3D files are floating around somewhere.

I struck out with Google and the usual 3D sites.
