Ok I am officially an aftermarket do it yourself accessory FREAK!!! thanks alot ROC.
Disclaimer. I have'nt installed these yet, and a quick look over before I went to hospital to take call seems Im missing two bolts:mad: But h*## for the price I can go to lowes or Home Depot and get two figgin bolts. Also I have no affiliation with the seller.
Just got these in today. Wanted to share. Seems a much more attractive and affordable alternative to factory side step and or running boards.
I got the Black Powder coated steps to match the Gtech brush guard I am planning to get. I will post pics of bars and install this weekend hopefully tomarrow maybe. Again on quick inspection they look to be high quality as advertised and even the mounting hardware was powder coated a beautiful black finish.

They are here on e-bay $149 with free shipping SO CHEAP heehee just like me. The free shipping really sealed the deal for me

They also come in billet aluminum $175 again shipping included, but $5 for insurance. Worth it IMO

And aluminum with black rubber mounted into grooves $199 same deal

Ok here it is the install pics.
On a user friendly install 1-10 its a 9. I only had one cursing moment, and that was putting the bolts into the gooves. On one end the black powder coating was too thick so I was like damn I am going to have to sand down the bolts! Ahh but alas all I did was try the other end. Plus the washer thing see #3.
Tools needed were 14mm socket, 1/2in socket, 11/16 socket and open end wrench, and phillips screwdriver that was all.
Pics in order.
1.Fresh out of package
2.To show finish
3.Bolt package (was missing no bolts turns out, but was missing two split locking thingys and two washers found some close in my garage therefore the rusted two. Oh and the third big bolt for bracket brace is an extra. Also another square groove bolt is extra too.)
4.Holes in brackets were larger than bolts. I got some silastic tubing $1.99 home depot and cut it a few mm wider than brackets. served two purposes first it protected the threads and second it really helped keep the washers in place during installation, and I think it might keep some water and crud out of the threads in the long run. They just squished up when I tightened the bolts.
5.Bolt with tubing through the bracket.

sorry dont know how to post pics elswhere.
so I continue
6.Reason for the tubing. The hole is a little big eh?
7.Where the brackets go underneath. There are threads in there and the supplied bolts fit perfect. Not a single stripped bolt. A first for me EVER. There are these little plastic thread protectors in the holes you gotta take them out by pushing in the middle button part then they pop right out. First one I tried to just pull out LOL doesn't work to well. They did come out easy after I figured it out. Pic one still in one out.
8.End caps off(four self tapping screws). Notice the far side is where I started. Thank goodness the other side wasn't near as caked and they spread along the rail just fine. 2nd bar no prob just one end taken off.
9.All set up and ready to go.
10.TaaDaa bout 2 and a half hours both sides.

Last one promise
whatever number pic front side view
rear side view sorry sun went down. Day pics tomarrow maybe. Oh and it was raining.
Extra brace front middle bracket.
Ok just for kicks. Guess what... Ok so they shorted me two lock nuts and washers, BUT heeehee they gave me an extra bracket for some stupid reason. So what did I do with it? why to answer the quality and toughness question I hit the friggin thing full force with a hammer at an angle and tried to scratch it with a knife and a screwdriver. What you see is the hammer hit on the left and screwdriver on the right, didn't bother to include the knife spot it hardly scratched it and I was trying to! I'd rate pawder coating top notch. Im sure the straight aluminum would be pretty slick as well, but I got black for two reasons cheaper and will match the Gtech front brush guard.(Coming soon I hope)
Summary....
Top quality for the price. $149 to my front door, easily makes up for a $1.99 set of washers. Compare to $500 dealer installed.
Lots of bolts to organize and turn but anyone and I do mean anyone could install this thing in an afternoon.
I am very pleased with them.
How they look to yall???

I like those very much. If I didn't already have my nerf bars, I would definitely consider these. I like the extra mounting arm. It gives the whole step a lot of mechanical advantage against being bent. Get these while you can at this price. If these are as good as you say they are, the laws of supply and demand might kick in.

Thanks Chris, I really better hurry up and get a Gtech soon, cause I just keep thinking that I really would have liked the bare aluminum or the aluminum with black rubber too! Ahh well for the cheapest of the three the back really is pretty sweet. I love ebay.

Before after and side view
Oh and down the side. I think it sticks out enough to protect against door dings from cars at least. Better not park next to any jealous truck types though.

Man Doc,
Those came out looking great! I was a little scared for you buying them from eBay, but the mounting brackets and width of the step look perfect. They also appear to mount closer to the body than the other type too. ROC-On!........

I bought the black ones the other day. I will be mounting this week. :D

RidgeDOC, I saw those on eBay as well and was considering them. They look great installed, and great job on the installation! :D Your post convinced me to order myself a set today. Will try to post pics when I get my set.

Thanks for the details, pics and review. I will order the aluminum ones w/ the black tread inserts.
GL and feel free to ask me any questions when you get them. You too gnoix and yes both of you post pics! Especially you fan cause I was this clost to spending the extra $50 for that variation, but hey that $50 towards the brush guard! lol I'm hopeless.
Shhh I think my wife is coming over
she's jealous.

Okay,
mounted my black ones last night and they turned out great. A few things to add to Doc's excellent write up.

Don't fully tighten any of the brackets or step bolts until you have everything in place. You will have to make adjustments.

Don't overtighten the step bolts. I found out why there was an extra in the package. There are virtually no instructions (a single sheet that was not specific to model and not very detailed) so no torque expectations for any of the bolts.

I give the kit 8 out of 10 for good design and results, but poor instructions.

The quality of the hardware is top notch.
The price is excellent for what you get.

I'm happy. I'll post some pics of black on black this weekend. I have never posted pics yet and I've had the truck two months!

:D

They look great! I have the OEM and the stick out a little more (hence, I caught the hinge of the gate in the driveway 3 months later  ). Another thing I don't like about the Honda ones is how 'dull' looking they get, even after I clean them up. And dirt gets in the cracks/corners, requiring extra attention.

Good job and a good alternative!

Very nice looking RL :D And you're right about that Utah sunset. The rust colored clouds make the top edges of your RL look like they are covered with a layer of Georgia clay

Thanks Guys! I appreciate the positive feedback.

Does anyone have a copy of the instructions that came w/ their running boards? I just got mine and they neglected to provide instructions.
Thanks

They came with instructions?
LOL J/K but the instructions aren't much here's what they shorted you.
The support bar actually goes on the second from front bracket to fit right the bracket should be facing oposite of this picture. You can turn the rest this direction or face them all rear open if you want symmetry(sp?)
