How much should new tires cost me?

I have my truck in for service and honda called stating I need new tires soon and they would be happy to do it for about $950. This seems really high to me.

Can someone let me know what I should be expecting to pay to replace stock tires?

Thanks.

Yep, I havent found better pricing than Costco or Sams Club. When I was shopping for tires recently, I saw the OEM's for about $195 per tire and that included mounting, balancing, rotating(for life), everything. So just under $800 total(as long as you have the membership-Sams in this case).

I looked back, and I payed $750 total, and that included the cost for the mebership.

Plus I didnt have to mess with getting them shipped to me, and then mess with putting the tires on my self, or having them sent somewhere to get it done. Which is time and money wasted imho.

Better? Please, they are quiet, they wear well, practically balanced when installed, (look at the number of and size of the weights that are added to other tires) better breaking distances, offer superior traction in all conditions, not just one appplication and they can last well over 60K- Once got almost 90K off of a set with no special consideration or costs- just rotated them, checked the air and had the balance checked in regular intervals at costco. Turns out they once never needed balancing, they wore perfectly.

Lastly, with less rolling resistance & compared to other mfg models they can save you 36 gallons of gas over 45,000 miles, which more than covers the difference of the price of less brands/models of tires.

Not sure if this helps out at all, but i just got a set of Yokohama Parada Spec-X's for the 2009 OEM 18" wheels for a little less than $130 each tire, mounted, balanced, etc. with road hazard warranty.
For the 18" Toyo Open Country HT's it would have been closer to $90/tire.

I put some of those Michelin Cross Terrains on my wife's Pilot when the OEM Goodyear Integrity tires (which I hated) finally wore out. The Cross Terrain tires seem a bit noisy on the highway but are otherwise fine. Around $900 installed... with tire warranties... which I normally never buy. But issues with the OEM tires and damaged sidewalls helped me decide to anty-up for the extra.

I just bought the Michelin cross-terrains for $642 out the door at Sam's Club. $149/tire plus $70 instant rebate.

Before the $70 instant rebate offer (at Sam's Club) from Michelin runs out on the 30th of September, I will be putting a set of the cross terrains on my RL too. Price out the door after the rebate will be around $630. :)

Just purchased BF Goodrich Long Trail TAs--$40 less than OEMs--rated better on Tirerack than Michelins--will post with opinion after I install them. (Went with white letters, used to love the way they looked on my Grand Chrerokee) $660 total including shipping. My mechanic charges ~ $15 per wheel to mount and balance. Hope they wear well.

I bought a set of rims(RTX-Grey) and OEM tires off Craig's list for $200. Tires look to have 80% tread life. I have them stored in temp controlled area to avoid dry rotting. I also sprayed heavily with tire form from armorial
I flipped the rims for $200, paid $20 to have tires removed from rims. So I have another set of tires waiting for me for $20.:);)
